Ok so I come back from when MechWarrior was well, just MechWarrior, all the way till now. that's a long time for game history. Though I'm not here to give a story... or am I?
One question though. DOES any one remember the 4 legged Mech from MechWarrior2? any one? no? guess not... In one word though it was "epic".
New and old gamers don't relly seem to match up in this New version of MechWarrior. The old want tactics and strategy. While your new Mech gamers just want to see thing go "boom". Because that Older Mech pilots have learned to play with skills. while the newer pilots relay on the classic "I win Button". This game has seen some hardships, Due to the fact most of the community is broken and does not want the same great things to happen. More or less have this game designed to their special need's then just the general public.
I Hear rumors of slow weapons such as the PPC or Gauss Failing to hit moving targets? -- Learn to Aim, Shot at where the target will be, not where its at.
Light Mech's doing circles around something much much bigger then them is a idea crazy I hear these days?
I think what is missing, from my years of Mech play. is Co-Op mission play, I know certain group is probably to lazy to make a A.I. System for tanks and Helicopters.
But these live once 5-10min match's are getting well, VERY STALE.
Mission Play would open a huge door for this game and a larger part of the population of people who want to get into this game with out being forced into a aspect of the game some people would avoid entirely.
Said missions can have a reward based system for oh I don't know...
-Living threw mission
-Number of targets destroyed
-Time Elapsed
-Bonus Objective Complete
Various Rewards depending on the Mech that was used for the mission, I.e if you use a altas and perform a A+ rank for the mission you are rewarded a Large Laser or A/C 10, something along these lines.
These are all my thoughts for now, ill will continue later.
PEACE - EPALYPSO

I'm only 23 (young for this community) and I am real sick of the assumptions you old men make about 'young' gamers.
My first PC game was MW2 and I was too young to even understand how to customize the mechs.
I've only met a couple gamers on any of the public TS servers that could have been under 20.
Most MWO gamers are 25 and up I'd wager
so really PGI is catering to a crowd that simply isn't here. NOBODY wants Call of Mechwarrior or Mechassault 3

Yeah we all would like some co-op to get new players acclimated

Yeah dude... I'm 26 and I clearly remember the 4-legged mech. Me and probably 90% of this player base.
Anyway, back in the Mechwarrior 2 days, I totally remember pulling ridiculous builds like boating 20 MGs and smashing through all the mechs in a level. I guess I've been on the lookout for the "I Win" buttons from an early age
A change of pace from the current state of the game (short battle after short battle) would definitely be nice, and hopefully community warfare will satisfy that. Hopefully... PGI, please don't eff that up.
