Then again I thought about it and after 2 seconds of thinking I decided that you're trolling us. I mean no one would want to play the game as is now with the mandatory DHS tax, the low cbill rewards, and the alpha build meta, if that 6 ppc shot you just took would kill your mech forever.
I mean did you even think through how this would play in an actual game before you posted this?

no there are 12 crits there. each player gets one crit slot, BUT you don't know which crit slot you get so you have to collect all 12 to win!
on a more serious note i would like a punishing mode like the one offered in the OP, but it would require a major rework and a great deal of balancing to the point that you are almost creating another separate game. i find something like this is very unlikely to even be considered at this point by any sane developer.

I like this! Some of the others have said it's too expensive, but this is only the case if you are buying your Mechs with MC, I don't, I go the C-bill route.
Your idea is much more realistic; if you get taken out for real, there is a real loss. It would stop MechWarrior's charging in like a WW1 wave assault.
What I would like to see is a new Salvage Module that actually lets you drag the remains of an enemy Mech back to your base or Dropship. This would then be added to your inventory or sold as scrap.

And I suspect in this mode, most individuals would only commit 60 ton or lighter mechs in order to minimize potential loss of C-Bills.
