These Forums. Should have been closed months ago.

To many Armchair Developers, 99.9% of who couldn't find a clue, let alone actually have one.

The need for so many to never be satisfied (see armchair Dev syndrome above), because the basement will always be a "dark" place.

LOL , i'm reading this on my DEV lap top in my DEV cubical provided to me by my R&D companies DEV team to ya know DEV. Guess i'm in the .1% of forum users who have a clue. granted its not in games, but bleeding edge tech. I make SCI FI real.....and this games Dev team leaves a lot to be desired.

Actually, just because it is a conspiracy theory, does not mean it is wrong, there is some reason behind it.

stuff

Really, based on what we know of PGI at this time, can anyone really discount this possibility?

Since we know, for a fact, that "Tinfoil Hats" are very cheap and very durable, we can also extrapolate, based on that, that the wearers of said "Tinfoil Hats" are notorious, and will continue to be notoriously very persistent, in their totally unfounded beliefs. :)

I find it more of a "stout kick in the crotch" when I'm killed after an intense and even fight only to spectate our last surviving 'mech - a pristine assault - lumbering towards the front line with zero damage and no ammo expended. Where the deuce was he when we needed him?

It happens a lot more often than disconnects, as well.

You forgot the part where he fails to select a target, fires all lasers past his opponent, then promptly launches his LRMs at point blank range and shuts down.

I just pretend that it's a six year old girl playing for the first time. Then it's kinda cute.

What would all your people's solution be to the heat scale? On TT I fire 3 PPCs in my awesome. I gain 2 heat, nothing happens. On MWO I fire 3 PPCs- KABOOM ENGINE EXPLOSION!

For a "team based shooter", the lack of built-in voice com (#1) leads to PUGs dropping against any organized group (#2) becoming quick stat points with no possibility of redemption.

....It's called pug stomping for a reason......
Again, PGI has told us that 90% of pug stomps are committed by pugs, not pre-mades.

So we need to NOT continue to punish pre-mades with ridiculous grouping restrictions, namely, you either have to have ONLY 3 other friends online, or at least 11 other friends online.

The generic (and easily abused) mech weapon slot system creates the triad of having to have complex mechanics like Ghost Heat and Gauss Charge, while making the weapons harder to balance, and making the mechs themselves more generic and less special.

The biggest issue preventing adequate balance is the weapon slot system not being limited. As it stands now every mech in the game is a quasi-omnimech and until that changes, the post above is pretty much dead on.

You can't balance the pilot so it's PEBKAC.

Here is my top three:

1. Players allowed to put any combination of weapons/equipment into any section of any mech so long as there is sufficient space provided. (solution: slot/hardpoint restrictions based on mech tonnage and physical design)

2. Players with access to 3rd party programs such as macros/voice communication using them to gain an advantage over the general public. (solution: Allow players to run their own servers or lock down access to anything running in the background while MWO is running)

3. Lack of separate brackets designed to enforce tonnage limits for matches. (solution: Kiddies with no attention span can /dealwithit. This game needs tonnage limits and the tryhards will just have to wait longer for a match if they don't branch out and play something other than heavies/assaults 24/7.)

I disagree with almost everything on this post. Apparently you have not been gaming long. You mean to tell me that it should against rules for me to talk on TeamSpeak with my friends while I play. LOL ya right!! I can't run a task killer on my computer to kill all processes that I do not want running on MY computer. Again LOL ya right!!! Macros I agree with.

Actually I have no problem with the current slot system as it's orders of magnitude more restrictive than TT, which had ZERO slot restrictions. There was no such thing as a "ballistic", "energy", or "Missile" hard point. If a slot was empty, and you had tonnage, you could stuff any weapon that would fit anywhere on your 'mech, including legs, INCLUDING rear firing weapons (because you could actually SEE and AIM behind yourself, PLEASE ADD THAT FEATURE TO THE GAME, PGI!!!)

I think the CURRENT hard point system is what has resulted so many 'cookie cutter' 'mechs. Once a new 'meta' is found, everyone goes to it. Without the hard point system, maybe, we'd see more variety. Then again, knowing human nature, maybe not. If someone figured out a really efficient build, say an Atlas with the largest possible engine, equipped with nothing 20 machine guns and 5 tons of ammo could evaporate other 'mechs in 2 seconds, well, we'd probably see nothing but THAT build in game...

We need a lobby system like the way "The Zone" was in MW:4.
Radar, BAP and ECM worked much better there as well.

If I want to play with a few invited friends and password the game. Cool, I'm playing with the people I want.
I want to do a 1v1, 2v2, 7v7? Cool have fun.
I want to pick the map before I choose a mech so I'm not running a 5 PPC stalker on Terra Therma? Great idea.

Sync drops are a problem that would be solved with the above. My group that I play with usually have 6-8 people online at any given time. Sync drop is the only way we can play together as a group. We'd be just as happy to do 3v3 or 4v4 and not bother the pugs.
RP wise for the last point, you would know the planet/location you are going to drop to before hopping in your mech.

The translation process/standards the devs used to convert the boardgame weren't fully informed at first and seem to be a bit random since, and the balancing standard(s) used by the devs are either too complex or have been changing; which I don't know; but the result is unpredictable outcomes - meaning they can't balance something before they release it; be it a weapon or a gameplay mechanic.

Because of this they're stuck in an non-ending process of trying to play catch up - and they never will, because their process is too complex. The translation process and the balancing standards should be simple and comprehensive. Than they could predict results.

Mechs that are too fragile to be in MechWarrior/Battletech, that die almost instantly and the Clans aren't even here yet.

There are too many things in this game (items, weapons, mech variants etc), which only exist as a novelty, an homage to mw fandom, lacking any sort of purpose in actual competitive play.

Due to non-translation of the combat mechanic the damage and armor numbers were built for.
