For example, I could be playing Skyrim, walking down a road minding my own business and then when a dragon shows up I lose video feed right in the middle of the fight.
I actually have been having this problem since November last year(the month when I first custom build my gaming PC from scratch).
At first I thought the problem was that my video card was too heavy or powerful, since It takes up 3 PCI slots. I strapped it to my motherboard using plastic zipties but the problem persisted.
I even took it to both a Best Buy and then a Tiger Direct and they couldn't figure out the problem either.
I started to wonder if the card was simply overheating. I developed this theory due to the fact that whenever I lose video feed, if I unplug the PC from the wall and wait 20 minutes, then boot the PC back up I get my video feed back.
So I then experimented with taking a plain old house fan, removed the side panel of my case and I had the fan "cool off" the GPU at point blank on full blast and...I can now play Skyrim without the GPU shutting down. However if I play Assassin's Creed III or Star Trek Online it shuts down. Same issue with MWO.
Yes the fans are working and no I don't have a dust problem.
So here's my question: Could my GPU be a lemon? Could I not have a powerful enough power supply? Currently I'm using an 80+ Platinum Roswell 750 watt PSU. I'm just trying to find a way to improvise so I can get back to playing MWO. I am having one of those years where every time I have money saved up an emergency forces me to use up most of my savings. So I don't think I can replace my GPU and get back to playing MWO until around January next year. That's life I guess. Any help on this issue would be very much appreciated.
Below is the link to the GPU that I have:

...Now I do have an additional question: If I do have to ultimately replace my GPU, what has proven to be the best 3GB GPU for MWO so far? I built my PC specifically to play MWO. It sucks that I haven't been able to play MWO since March, lol.
