One word....HEAT.
By the time you drop a 300XL in, max the armor and add 4 MLs, you don't have much in the way left for DHS lets alone missiles. I mean sometimes your better off being able to fire without worrying too much about heat even it you lose a bit of alpha and damage potential because lets face it, I shutdown and immobile Jenner is a dead Jenner.
Personally I just dial back the engine to a 280XL or something to make room for at least 1 SRM launcher but that is just me.
That comes down to fire discipline. Also, you are better off piloting the Jenner F at that point because then you can just slap on an extra pair of lasers and run around firing 4 until you need that alpha.

Honestly I agree as I prefer my Jenner F however you have to run 3 variants to Elite and Master the F. Also I have a Founder's Variant.
I do personally run missiles on my Founders Jenner but haven't always done so. For a long time I used 4 MPL just because their shorter beam duration pairs well with a fast mech, especialy if your jousting and or straffing through.
You got to keep in mind that adding missiles takes up alot of weight on a 35 ton mech, weight can you devote to a bigger engine, more heat sinks or more armor. Also you talk fire discipline which is really another term for potentially lowering your DPS. Sure adding missiles may give you a big Alpha, but leaving the missiles off and adding a few more heatsinks means you can sustain fire from the lasers much, much longer without shutdown risk which may very well lead to more damage and/or kills in the long run.
I guess the point I am making is that leaving the missiles off isn't as dumb or noobish as it might seem at first glance. In alot of ways it actually makes sense.
