Massive, MASSIVE car terminology fail. A Catalytic converter is not a power/performance device, it's part of the emissions control system. In fact, it ROBS cars of power, since it's job is to take waste fumes being output by the engine, and pump them back in. It's like breathing with a scarf around your face, it gets harder because the scarf not only traps the carbon dioxide you exhale, but makes you breath a bit of it back in.

In other words, not having a catalytic converter is a power boost.
So much typical PGI here.

the things that are on sale hang in a car... get it? a car? hanging things? pgi could have called it the dirty muffler sale. they also didnt say it was the cat conv giving you gigawatts of power. relax your ****** sphincter

I dunno. This sounds kind of fishy... I mean, I searched my Jenner's engine bay from top to bottom and I can't find a catalytic converter anywhere. I'm pretty sure it doesn't need one anyway; nobody cares about the helium and even with a transplanted Yori Vlar XL block it's still tritium emissions-compliant in the Commonwealth (three cheers for short half-lifes, eh?).

I'm not sayin' this ain't on the level, I'm just sayin', y'know?

1. Buff weapon
2. Put said weapon boats on sale
3. Profit
4. Nerf said weapons to the ground
5. Repeat with next weapon

Happened pretty much with the Heavy Metal.

And Firebrand, Dragon Slayer & Misery. Death Knee and Pretty Baby were practices before they found out more effective way to boost sells.
Actually FB has been already nerfed twice. First by AC20 heat scaling, then gauss re-charge time.

What a very weird coincidence that heavily ballistic mechs go on sale while it's UACwarrior online.
Pathetic.

Nothing I really want there. I already got a Jager FB for my second account because it needed one and I already have an Ilya on this main account.

Perhaps I'll go convert some of that XP I've been saving up for those modules. :(

And see how the blind sheep run. Also if your going to market or present a sale do some research about what your talking about..

A catalytic converter is a vehicle emissions control device which converts toxic byproducts of combustion in the exhaust of an internal combustion engine to less toxic substances by way of catalysed chemical reactions. It does not "shift into gears". Also sense these devices are emission control devices they basicly are part of the r.e.c.t.a.l area of a vehicle. So what does that say about your sale!

Except both the Illya and Firebrand are both very competent 'Mechs with a wide variety of builds. It's not like they only work at all with UAC5s.

Sorry if i sound noobish but how do you use XP to buy a Mech and how exactly do you convert it to MC. I couldn't find any tabs or instructions for that matter on how to do this.

Valt, you actually buy Mc with real money, and then use them to:
Buy Hero Mechs that earn more money
Or normal mechs, but for those you can use MC (real money) or Game Credits which you earn in game with fighting called CBills.
Or you buy storage space. These are called Mech Bays

Or you Convert XP, which are only usable on the mech that earned them, to GXP, "General XP", which you can use to buy modules or:
On a mech you don't want to drive but need to unlock something called Pilot trees. Pilot trees offer benefits unlocked with XP or GXp and enhance the performance of your mech. Since for every 100 XP you only get 5 GXP for free, that can save you a lot of time grinding. At 400 XP a game you would need to earn 300.000 XP to unlock even one module for free, or around around 100 hours.

Thanks Hammer. I already knew about the real money part and buying mechs. I have spent a fair amount of it playing this free game. :). It was the XP part i was unsure of, but you have cleared that up.

The Game is pretty much unplayable right now if you like to Play with lazers. Mass FB/Ilyas everywhere stacking UAC5s. (just got out of a Game where the other side had 4FB and 2 Ilyas.. needless to say the weight Balance was pretty ****** up too). I´m not sure if it´s a great idea to make some quick coin at the cost of alienating a good Portion of your Playerbase at the same Time.

the catalytic converter basically turns harsh pollutants... it DOES NOT remove Carbon Dioxide

... so this sale is to choke our wallets

Somewhere between 18.30 and 15.30 Euro for the ilya and between 17.00 and 14.20 Euro for the Firebrand.

No offense, but i still find it too much money for such an in-game item. Thanks, i'll pass on this sale too.

I am sticking to mech bay's for now. I did buy a couple of cents worth of GXP though to skip half the grind to elite.

I run an Awesome 8Q with an all laser build and do very well indeed.
It seems to me that it is all about trigger time on the weapon of your choice.
