I have been killed countless times by text lock... meaning I am trying to fire group weapons or move but I end up in the ***** text box doing jack. and Dieing as a result of it. WE NEED A "SAFETY" buttong that requires a double confirmation for text typing!

Sigh... after the rage I just changed them to f11 and f12 But still... not a good default choice of button placement. I'm not deleting this topic tho... seriously the default push to text is horrible.

Just get one of those keyboards with huge keys for the visually impaired and old people. With bigger buttons you won't his T,Y or U as much by accident.

I never ever have this problem. Sorry, this is a non-issue. Just rebind your keys differently if you're hitting them too often by accident.

PS. If you want people to vote, you need to change your poll choices to something much less biased towards your own opinion.

remap your chat keys to F5/F6/F7/F8

t/y are just a bad idea to use.

Recently set mine to numpad 1, 2, and 3. and numpad Enter to end chat.

Once I get used to it I don't think i'll be annoyed by it anymore.

Just change your key for targeting mechs from 'R' to 'E', like it should be by default anyway. This way you're not directly next to the 'T' key for one of the most pressed functions in the game.

I just send a half finished message with lost of ws and ss and as and ds.

On my mapping they are FAR from mech control keys. You're going to type anyway, no need for chat key to be within finger reach from your "hands on stick and throttle".
