It hurts as bad as how I felt after I saw The Phantom Menace.
Mech3 is the best mech game ever, or should I say, so far....

What version of Mechwarrior 3 are you installing? My Win95/98 version installs (and actually starts) just fine on Win7 x64, my problems stem from physics issues. I've used the Loader, but all that seems to have done is slow the game down drastically in cycles and doesn't solve small vehicles being thrown up in the air.

At least the Phantom Menance had an awesome lightsaber duel at the end? Kinda dulled the pain...

There be the patches for MW3....half the time it takes an age for the MW3.org guys to approve your account so you can get at the downloads.
Obviously the instructions are from another page...but there ya go.
1 Download 1.2 patch from the top of this page
http://www.mechwarri...ess/?page_id=35
2. http://www.mechwarri...opic.php?t=3510 The 2nd to last post on this page has a file called MW3Loader, download and use that to run the game, it stops random crashes and from vehicles bouncing in the air. To see and download the fil you must create an account and log in. This works best in 1024x768
3. If you have an ATI card and you get blockypotions of graphics sticking on the screen without refreshing install this patch to fix it. Its a problem with Z buffer support on ATI cards. http://www.mechwarri...4948&highlight=

on a side note: I've never seen the issue with crashing on collisions in mw3 before, don't know what's up there.

I did the whole process once and it kept bouncing, had to totally wipe out the install and do it again, and like some kind of hellspawn magic it worked.
Edit: Is your version 3.1.2.22.0?

Great links, they worked pretty well for me, the game runs a bit sluggish at some points, But overall it's way better than the sticking pixels.

Compatibility mode win 98, run in 640x480, run as administrator. Set those on the setup file, should work. Might be able to get by without the resolution, but my PC was being a pain without it.
