Make it a type of tournament-mode (less the tournament) to where you're given X amount of 'Mech bays but can't buy more (or can, I don't care - probably better to have a max capacity?) but where Rental Mechs would be the choice... until:

Instead of losing your 'Mech at a reward of only C-bills, this method would provide salvage of equipment and perhaps chassis. You run 10 matches in a Rental (of ALL available C-bill variants, not just the 4 current units of the week; dunno, don't care - having a choice of only the 4 for a week might give variety + diversity) - and after those (**edit) WINNING 10 matches, you could assemble something custom. You'd still make C-bills per match for a little gain in cash, and at the very worst - you're out of what, 10 rentals that you didn't own to begin with?

And you think that 50% of the "good" would like losing all their currently decked out Mechs, when the other "good" players win? LOL!

It cannot "target" mechs, nor shoot at them if they stay only in visual 3PV mode. Best bet is to send out an ECM scout, who can be hidden from radar and visual while "actively targeting" enemy Mechs for Missile locks and if sees an opportunity can shoot at the enemy with minimal exposure by not having a BIG RED flashing Newb beacon floating over their heads.

Honestly, I am not sure folks would really like playing with non-doubled armor and internal structure. The problem is that the weapons put out several times the DPS of the table top game ... trying to balance around table top armor values just won't work (just my opinion

Also, in TT you might find a game lasting 10 or 15 rounds (maybe less) depending on the luck of damage distribution. Mapped to real time that is 100 to 150 seconds or about 2 minutes. No one would really enjoy playing if each match was 2 minutes long and you were often insta-popped. This is especially true with light mechs where a single PPC hit to the leg could cripple it.
The nature of MWO as a real time, first person targeted shooter, requires changes to the game structure to make it fun and playable. MW Tactics is more likley to be a good simulation of the board game (though I haven't tried it) since they can take all of the board game rules including random damage allocation and crits ... the player is responsible for movement and fire decisions.

Did I say that? However, if they are HARDCORE, they knew the risks going in right? So they should be willing to 'Put up their Pinks' as the saying goes.

1) Due to public outcry in closed beta, PGI states there will never be 3rd PV
2) PGI backtracks and states there will be 3rd PV, but with an option to play hardcore that is restricted to 1st PV
3) PGI implements 3PV, but backtracks on hardcore mode saying it is not necessary, and posts a rambling apologetic http://mwomercs.com/...te-and-apology/ , which is mocked on several gaming sites.
The total lack of credibility on this issue alone, not counting multiple other issue, is a clear indication of the lack of "good faith" in PGI's interaction with this community.
If you are expecting R. Bollocks and P. Inureye to actually follow thru with 1PV hardcore mode, you have not learned from history.

Putting up your "Pinks" once is all well and Good. But for the Dev to spend time to create a mode that all the so called "Hards" use just once or twice, or until they find out they aren't so Hard after all, is a moronic idea at best. Remember what happened with 8v8? Those same "Hards" quickly returned to the slaughter fields licking their little nicked and scratched K/D stats. Now imagine it given the real loss of the Mech you were driving that Match... LOL
How many Mechs would you be wiling to lose Joseph before you thought the regular mode was perhaps a better place to play?

Go play MechAssult 2 then oh wait it's an arcade game ousted by the "hardcore". Pfft!!! It had tonnage limits, forced team play, and stock balanced mechs. Yeah no 1st person but was leaps and bounds better than what we have right now. Honestly though you guys all claim you're so hardcore and {Scrap}, but I really doubt you're as good as half of what you claim to be. End rant get off 3p! If you're so good prove it! Adapt to the game and quit your crying! I'm used to the gauss already only took about an hour now I brawl with gauss.
TL;DR Learn to play. Learn to adapt! That is true hardcore!

You mean like exactly what I've already done? I haven't stopped in on that thing since Ghost Heat. I made my case and moved on; it seems that's a rare attitude around here.

Meh. I'm perfectly fine letting it stew and continue to be seen. I'd still like it to be discussed, and I might even re-pitch a simplified version after the big feature push is done (depending on the state of balance, obviously). But I'm not going to stomp my feet and throw an incessant tantrum like the 3PV crowd does.
There's a big difference between the blind entitlement of the OP and the way I handle my suggestions. One is civil and sensitive to the state of development; the other is the equivalent of a ****** 6-year-old melting down in a Wal Mart checkout line. If people were making "Homeless Bill's Convergence Must Be Activated at Launch" threads, I'd say the same thing: stop being entitled and give it a rest.

Some of the zealots that sprung up after you gave me the impression you were an outspoken individual. Nice to find out that was a wrong impression on my end. Keep spreading that common sense around, eventually it will rub off on at least a few people.

I'd get my atlas santa and xmas lights back tho right?
OH. No. Well, depends.
If they're Kuritans, they probably would make you grovel for it, and might offer you terms to return certain items if you promised a non-aggression towards the Combine.
If they're Liaotian, they'll cook up your C'lights and Atlas Santa into a soup and eated it.
Lyrans might add it to their house-hold shrine, throne, or add it to their Merc's 'pile-o-loot'.
Rassalhaugians would shun you for worshiping such false idols. Odin is the one true God.
Davionians would give you back your cherished items, in trade for your allegiance.
Free Worlds guys would probably give you back your junk, and your mech; they'll become your best friend - but leave you empty and hollow inside. You'll continue to question your existence and wander aimlessly, lonely, until you ultimately throw away your Christmas lights, "Happy New year 3050", and your Atlas Santa Clause.
Clans might take you as a bondsman simply for asking.
