So, I've played both ends of this issue, and can confirm that SSRMs seek the BJ's CT with extreme prejudice. The animation from the firing 'mech (I've been using a QKD-4H) clearly shows them all pile into a wad and strike the CT or CTR.

From the defender's cockpit, it can very clearly be seen that the CT and CTR are the sections that take 9/10 SSRMs, often leaving the BJ dead with side armor almost completely intact, and the CT gone. This happens every time, against any amount of SSRMs regardless of tracking mods. (I tested with all of and with all combinations of BAP, TAG and Artemis.)

Running into SSRMs with a BJ is pretty much automatic death, and even if you somehow kill the enemy before they kill you, your CT is still going to be red or critical. This needs to be fixed badly, please don't continue to leave it, it has been this way since the thing came out.

I honestly wonder if there's a specific angle or range that causes that to happen.

I know that getting close to a BJ and just firing Streaks is free kill.

I thought that getting close to a BJ and firing confetti or harsh words was a free kill too....

I have trained my harsh stare so as to not waste ammo on Blackjacks.

BTW, if you think it is a bug, post it in the appropriate patch feedback category, not here in the general bitching subforum.

posting it in a frequently viewed forum potentially increases interest in the issue and leads to more empirical testing. I can't see how that is a bad thing.

Yes, post it in the rage venting forum, where developers look for bug feedback, and nothing disappears from the first page in minutes.

I think this should be looked at because I have noticed my streak builds seem to kill blackjacks unusually fast. They just kind of melt much faster than any other mech.

Yep. It is very obvious when watching your own streaks, or even other people's streaks. Most attacks seem to hit it in fact.

I'd also like to add my sentiments as well to the OP. something seems to be wrong with it.

Just try it out, you can expose cherry red internals on a BJ from a streak KTO in like 2 alphas.

That's like 2.5 seconds.

Edit> LRMs need testing too...
