I was planning to put together a second mech just like my primary (so I don't have to wait for matches to end after I die), but after running the numbers on what it would cost...ouch...

SDR-5D Spider (2,533,540 c-bills)
ER PPC (600,000 c-bills)
Small Laser (22,500 c-bills)
Small Laser (22,500 c-bills)
ECM (400,000 c-bills)
XL 255 (4,165,000 c-bills)
Ferror Fibrous (150,000 c-bills)
Endo Steel (300,000 c-bills)
Double Heat Sinks (1,500,000 c-bills)
Adv. Seismic Sensor (6,000,000 c-bills)
Adv. Target Decay (6,000,000 c-bills)
Capture Accelerator (6,000,000 c-bills)
Total: 27,694,540 c-bills

So, how much did your favorite mech cost?

My current main machine: 14.4c
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...19af5e7121019fc\

My old signature machine: 13.1c
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4cf319abb93be76

My cheapest favourite is only 8
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...70528fb3ca917e5

Spending 27c on a light seems ludicrous.

Edit: I see most of your money went into modules. I never buy modules; they seem like a waste of money to me, unless it's seismic sensor, in which case I'll probably only ever buy one, and I'll have to think about what mech I'd want to equip it too.

I can't see any good reason (eventually) not to run modules. It's not like you're giving up firepower, speed, armor, etc., to have them once the rest of the mech is setup.

I also find the Seismic the least useful module I have.

So 16.8 mill not to mention the millions I spendt on the xl380 and xl390 to get it where I want.

edit: oh modules well 6m seismic, target 2m, and cap 6m. So 30.8 million.

VTR-9S
$16,789,157
Seismic: 6 Mil
plus a 9 and a 6 Cool Shot: $50k.
so $22, 789, 207.

I swap modules around. I ended up buying 3 seismic sensor modules that I'll load up on three different mechs that I feel like playing in any given play session. It would be very expensive (like the OP) to outfit every mech with full module slots. Most of mine remain empty until I ready them for combat.

all my cbills go into new mechs and engines, dont have any modules yet >.<

actually I think my problem is I cant stay in the same mech with the same loadout for too long.

usually what will happen is i'll get in a mech constantly change and tweak the loadout until I have a uber game 800 damage and 3-4+ kills and then I'll strip the mech and use something else :)

I know my KDR suffers for it but it would be a sad day for me when that mattered.

All of my Cataphract 3D's cost about 18 mil to upgrade, kit out and finish.

The rest average about 9-14 mil, depending on class and tonnage.

Oh, we're also including modules? I spent at least 200m on multiple siesmic sensors, cap accels, etc.

Dont forget to add the other 2 spiders you had to buy to get this one where it has to be with all elite and master skills.

The mech I spent the most on so far is VTR-9S
got XL360 and artemis, then coming from only light mechs, I decided to up the speed and got XL385...
Though, my 3rd most favorite mech I own is probably the cheapest SDR-5V :D
I have modules, but I don't count them towards mech cost since I move them around all the time

I swap my sensors out so I don't have to pay for each mech. If you don't want to wait between matches and go with 4 sets of modules, well, that's up to you.
