I have little to no effective knowledge of the contents of this conversation - and I am STILL enjoying it

Okay, if you can't find those rubber bands for your super cub could I suggest something to you? On my J3 cub the wing mounts with a dowel in the front of the wing that inserts into the front of the fuselage and has two screws that hold the wing in the back. As illustrated in this picture. As you can tell I haven't gotten the wing mounted yet but maybe you could try something like that?
Spoiler

On a side note please excuse the crappy picture. ^_^

I might try that. Honestly, it might just be easier to buy new rubber bands. But I'll take a look in a few months. :D

Reading this really makes me want to get back into building / flying.

Last thing I flew was my black DR-1 Triplane. I took off from my front lawn because it has all of the lift. Such a fun thing to fly.

I may just wander back into my local flying club to see whats going on. I stopped flying with them because it is a huuuuuuge group and the field is always being used. And I'm not a big fan of waiting. I mostly used the football and running track behind my house. F*** the police.

And now that I think of it, I have a Sopwith Camel that needs to be built.

Cool, does the Fokker (oh man I love that word) belong to a particular unit?

I've wanted to try kit building, honestly. Well, what I really wanted to do was buy a foam airframe and build it from scratch with all hand-picked parts. I wanted to do a pusher prop jet like one of these.

I've heard a lot of good things about jet-shaped pusher props and wings so I'd like to try one sometime.

Nah, no unit markers, just a few white Iron Crosses in all the appropriate places.

I sure would love to see a model DR.1 and Camel dogfight with the long strips of colored ribbons.

You know, like these guys?

I participated in one of these once, used a Hobbico Superstar MK-II. (I still have the remnants of it.) And I have yet to pull the Engine and servos off it as well...

Wow, yea I've always liked the look of the stealth-bomber type planes. But what I wish park zone would produce is a B-29 bomber.
Or maybe a b-17, either way, just some historical bombers. After all the p-51s did defend the bombers before they delivered there payload so it would make a lot of sense.

I gotta say this is a really good discussion.

I still want to build an honest Zeppelin. Rigid frame and all. I've seen a few of those online, all are built from scratch though, I would love to be able to order a 12-15 foot zeppelin kit through the mail...

My dream is to make one and paint it like the Pandora from Crimson Skies.

That would be freakin' cool I love Crimson skies. Haven't played it in a while though. That sounds like a fun project. Will the Zeppelin by chance be made of led? ;)

Since we're talking about super Cubs here, I thought I'd show you guys a hybrid of a super cub and a piper cub. It was made in 1952 by Harold Wagner. It only had about 8 hours of flight time on it before it was taken apart and both planes were restored.

Also to keep on topic, here is a picture of the P-51 after a recent strafing run about a month ago. Ain't she pretty? XD

Yeah, I hadn't flown anything for awhile it was a gusty day, I managed to get the plane inverted. I had about enough time to say "wow, I managed to get it upside down!" As I turned to tell a friend this. Long story short it was a full on nose dive.

Sounds like what I did to my first RC helicopter, flipped in a gust of wind, snapped the tail boom and ruined the gearbox.

Never.

Again.
