seriously, this was your great idea, make the uac5 an ac5 that jams? you need to go to what ever reference your using for the nomenclature of these weapons, and stick with it. i can tell you already, with the decreased heat of ac2's, there your new uac5. so what do we do when we have to nerf that because of the whiners? then the smart players just go to the next fastest, dangerous, ranged weapon. if you want us all to take medium lasers and machine guns, then make only those available.

i made a cardinal mistake and believed that this company actually had a plan and wanted to bring a quality product to the market, its obvious that this is just another money making scheme. top priority will be given to bringing in the green backs and the hell with the community. i have seen this so many times before, its like a broken record.

well, one things for sure, you won't need me to be rich gaming moguls, which is good, because i have spent my last ruppel on this game. i just wish i could be reimbursed for that pheonix pack i'm sorry i bought....oh well live and learn.

The UAC fires as double as fast as an AC/5 - with the chance of jamming. But the effective firerate is still between 120% and 150% compared to an AC/5.

What me really ****** off is: THAT is all? THAT was the RELEASE-Patch? Nothing new, nothing for the Founders, no new Map... NOTHING... Lame ..

Haven't played much of the new patch, but isn't it obvious that people will flock to the "best" weapon? Also, nerf machine guns, luck based weapons OP, just like UAC/5 *sarcasm*.

An UAC/5 is not just "and AC/5 that jams" because it will only jam if you fire it quickly. I'm willing to take risks and keep runnning 2x UAC/5, and if they jam, just use my other weapons while slowly backing off.

UAC/5 is no longer the overpowered goto for ex metasnipers.

The update did its work perfectly. UACs still give a serious uppercut but jam quickly enough to avoid anyone being roflolstomped by a triple build. Good work PGI!

Ruining the game? How can they be ruining the game? The game wouldn't even exist up to this point if it wasn't for PGI. Therefore I submit that PGI is trying to save the game/franchise whilst people like the OP are trying to tear the game down. Do people have so little patients in real life? I suspect not.

No people wont flock to the AC2 becouse their still broken. You even go near staggered fire/rapid fire and ur mech will overheat in a blink of an eye. Be it by accident or by purpose if u rapidfire/stagger fire them ..ur fked.

Ac2's are broken, so people wont go to them.

UAC5 is still better than Ac5 thansk to double shots. Though they still need to sort out how double shot is turned on/off / used in game, the 'nerf' isnt al lthat bad imo.

So many people seem to expect something from the launch day it's funny. You guys obviously don't have much expereince with MMO's.

It's just another milestone in the game's progress. Pre launch > Post launch. This isn't a normal title where the realease is everything. Can all the spoiled people stop talking and be quiet now? No? Damn, well it was worth a shot asking...

MWO is not a MMO :)

There is nothing 'massivly multiplayer' about 12v12 matches ;)

I've been using them pretty effectively for a few weeks now with no problems, both in multi-AC2 builds and Gauss-AC2 combo builds. There is really no chance to incur the ghost heat penalty if you just leave them grouped together, so I just do that. The biggest problem is remembering to not hold down the fire button constantly so I don't run out of ammo too early in the match.

i do think 20% is a little excessive on the jam now that it firs so much slower but i dont think it is as bad as people keep complaining about this speed 15% jam is prob correct or go back to old speed and keep the 20% jam either or works for me and i think woudld be the best balance. also since it is just an AC 5 that can double tap please increase the ammo to 30 per ton or just make it use the same ammo

25% was fine, nobody was complaining about that. 15% was definitely too low, both people using uac's and being shot by uac's agreed with that. 20% is a good compromise its reasonably low, but its enough that you'll jam up before you can core a heavy/assault mech who is unlucky enough to walk infront of someone with 3+ uac5's.

seriously with 4uac5 i rounded a corner once and came face to face with an atlas, equiped with ac20, LL's and srm6s. we faced off and traded fire at ~50m range and i cored him while only having red CT, i didnt even move just sat and fired. THATS imbalance when a brawler heavy can outdps a brawler assault at ideal ranges.

I think the common misconception here is when MWO was announced as an MMO, people were expecting BattleTech Online not MechWarrior Online. PGI has pretty much delivered a World of Tanks clone with 'Mechs and used the MechWarrior IP to do so.

Quite frankly, the company just does not have the expertise to deliver a MMO. All of the games they have been involved in to date have been either working on little bits (they did the Duke Nukem Forever multiplayer) or they were basically told what to do (Need for Speed:Shift). As far as I know, MWO is their only original in house project they have ever done.

A TRUE BattleTech MMO with the Inner Sphere as persistent universe would be the crowning jewel of the franchise but it would take a software house with more skill, vision and money than PGI could ever hope to achieve, ever.
