PUG dropping is stil ROLFSTOMP everytime today and mostly not in my favor... I see team after newbie team going against premade long range teams of snipers with huge disparities in weight. MM needs to start dropping everyone into a single lobby and then split the teams up "Oldschool Kickball" style.

MWO is going to become a barren wasteland of just the elite premade teams as everyone else quits to greener less ROLFSTOMP pastures.

Also, I am starting to notice a new trend which makes me think PGI's Elo is based more off of damage output then straight wins. Any time that I manage to do over 1000+ dmg my next 5+ matches are absolute garbage, as in 10+ vs 0 at end of match.

How can you confirm its high Elo players that it is effecting?

Also what time period where you playing in?

I got a few failed to find matches, fairly sure I'm not a high elo player, but then again since no-one know there's no way to say for sure.

Im sure its due to the fact many are leaving MWO for a greener island. So as the player base shrinks the matchmaker takes longer to find games until it times out and disconnects you from the ques.

Considering that a game such as DOTA 2, with only 10 total players to match, as opposed to 24, and less strict parameters (straight win/loss vs win/loss per weight class) can take an average of 4-5 minutes to find a match for mid range player, you might be a bit off base in this assessment.

Granted, only PGI knows the true player counts, but high elo matching is generally not going to be a quick process if you want to match them together, regardless of which game it happens to be.

As we continue to evolve the match making algorithm it's more likely something we'd want to incorporate within the system such that it can internally reset buckets if needed to avoid this being something that needs to depend on user behaviour.
Something we've noticed with this recent test is that altering the ranges isn't having as big an impact as expected, more than anything though it's given us a lot of data that we can now work to make internal test scripts emulate such that we can feed it back into the match maker to make further adjustments to the algorithm it uses.

You have my vote for internally reset buckets :)

Assuming their are enough players around, finding 24 instead of 10 could result in a more "fair" match.

Not sure if there is just less people playing today or if MM got worse... Have had two drops where we have been shorted two whole team members and four where we were shorted one team member. The weight disparages are also continueing.

Awful matchmaker experience tonight. Dropped only with noobs, died horribly in "0-12" matches several times in a raw.

Do you think its fun, PGI? It doesn't make me want to play this game. After such matches I want to delete it.

Repeat: it is AWFUL. It is obviously one-sided: you play for the winning side of for the losers. No competition, no game, nothing. Stupid matchmaker. Absolutely dull.
