I remember I had to click a link to opt in to Operation 24.

Can anyone point me to that link?

Neither, I, my son, nor Google, can find it.

Celebrate Launch and the fielding of 24 `Mechs on the battlefield with Operation 24! Play any 24 games (win, lose or draw) between September 17th and October 1st (10am PDT) to receive a cool in-game “Operation 24” hanging cockpit item automatically.

Ther is no Activation or "Opt-in" link becasue this is a challenge, not a tournament.

Play 24 matches, wait until challenge is over (289 Hrs and 48 minutes from the time of this post), receive item, done.

Current progress can be tracked under Profile -> Stats-> Challenges

Actually item is granted as soon as you complete the 24 matches. No waiting required.

Ah, interesting... all the challenges so far it arrived after the end, and over top it says that that is the case here. too... but I won`t complain if I get mine earlier

Managed to get mine on the first night. I just had to go to the cockpit items list and select it to add to a mech.

Is it just me or was "challenge" a little grandiose word to use for this promo thing they've got going? To me the word "challenge" denotes some level of difficulty, not, you know, just showing up.

"Task" or the modern gaming interpretation of "Achievement" would have been more apt, I agree.

Achievements, oh boy... I think I need to to blow a gasket all over about when we were told that WoW would also eventually need one... *gwarf**wargh*

no dude, this challenge is to increase player numbers so PGI will have some thing to say during their peers

"HEY HEY LOOK AT THIS, WE HAVE 6563 PLAYERS PLAYING THIS GAME AT A SINGLE TIME"

It is a challenge to log in and complete 24 matches
