Hey everyone - welcome to another Weekly Screenshot. Todays screenshot shows a rather bombarded Hunchback seemingly taking out an unfortunate Dragon, as our Atlas pilot gets ready to core his target.

I'm not sure this Hunchback has much of a chance - what do you guys think?

See you again next week!

Hehe, AC/2s.

No way in hell does the Hunchie have a chance.

The UrbanMech is going to win, no question about it.

It be a AS7-RS model ;)

The AS7-RS is a Succession Wars era version of the Atlas that attempts to recreate the Star League's Atlas II using technology available at the time. The result is a 'Mech with a focus on medium ranged combat in contrast to the AS7-D's close range brawling loadout.

I've decided this is a recurring Mechwarrior theme, or perhaps it's a trait of Atlas pilots. They specifically always seem to be coring targets and then getting caught in the resulting blast (MW3 opening, that first Mechwarrior Reboot Trailer). So I bet on the ejecting Hunchback pilot!

looks like the Hunchback still has enough of its armor to escape through the trees/hills, then it can use those AC2's to out-range the Atlas. Of course, it has to actually escape first. The Hunchback's glow seems to be from the Atlas' large lasers, which are still cooling down

So I take it the sections of armor glowing is from taking sustained weapons fire? Cool ;)

If he just killed the Dragon, why is the score still 0:0?

Regardless, I think the Hunchy's in trouble - about to lose those ballistics, and the Atlas has minimal damage.

I do rather like that Atlas config, too - nice mix of weapons at mid-range, and the heat efficiency isn't actually too bad...

If that Hunchback has more speed than a normal one it could win because all he needs to do is to get something between them and create some distance.
Once he has done that he can easily stay out of the effective range of those LRM's while legging the Atlas with the AC2's to make things even more easy.
Even if he the Atlas manages to launch the LRM's at maximum range his accuracy will suffer because of it.
Especially if the Hunchback moves fast sideways before the LRM's impact. All you need to do to confirm this is watch the Heavy video with the Catapult when he opens fire on a fast moving Jenner.
Most of those LRM's misses the Jenner in the video because of distance and speed.

AC2's may be weak but an they easily outclasses an LRM 15 rack when the Atlas can't get close enough to take advantage of it's superior firepower.

But if the Hunchie doesn't have a big engine it's all over. Now i solved the problem. Where is my price? Give me my beta key please. ;)

Jeez, I've been there plenty. "Yes, take that you son of a--" and someone nukes me. Of course, it's an Atlas too.

Looking at the Hunchback torso almost completely glowing, I'm thinking that the glow from damage needs to be toned down a lot. Glow in small areas, or maybe mroe in completely destroyed parts/mechs is ok, but that kind of brings down the appeal for me.

If the hunchback keeps legging it and dosnt stop, he 'might' win that fight, depends on if he can get around behind the atlas faster than the atlas can turn. AC's to the back at point-blank dont feel to good i think =)
