Well Saturday was a good run, I got a good amount of headshots and high damage - truly broke my losing streak, thank you to the Knights that invited me to run with them! Ductus Exemplo!

Chapter 1: “BQQ”

My name is Bill Q. Those close to me call me “BQQ”, others call me “BBQ”; and, some call me “Barbeque”. Heck, I was once even called “Boo”; but that’s a different story. Anyhow; I am 44 years old. I have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful children. I have an 18 year old son and a 13 year old daughter. I served in the Marik Armed forces, under the flag of “The XXXXX” for 19 years achieving the rank of Lieutenant (Lance Leader). The hypocrites kicked me out. The official reason for my discharge was “Using Marik equipment without official permission”. Yha, I was using my Mech to make extra money on the side, but who wasn’t? I knew at least two other people, both of whom out ranked me, who were doing the same thing. Bahhh - Anyhow – forget them! I now have finally acquired enough cash to buy a Mech and be my own boss. My plan is to go to River City where I heard there is a good/cheap market of used Mechs. I have decided to keep a journal – I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 2: “Da Hang-her”

I arrive at River City on 1/11/2013. This place is a mess. It has been devastated – I had no idea it was this bad. Hard to believe that just months ago was this city was a thriving town. The town is now litered with destroyed cars, caved in buildings, and rampant fires. Now it’s a war zone. Today, there is not a day that goes by where the news does not report a skirmish or two that involve multiple Mechs. The city is covered in a heavy cloud of ash from all the fires burning. I quickly asked around to find out where I can buy a mech. My search leads me to a place called “Da Hang-her”. Ahhh I get it “The hanger” – a good ploy on words… I guess. I go and meet the owner, a guy who calls himself “Slick Rick”. I think to myself, “Slick Rick… Da Hang-her… really.. what am I in some cheap sci-fi thriller”. With names like that, I must be in the right place to acquire a cheap mech. I look around; and, as I look, I make some small chatter with “Slick” – you know, to see who’s going to be the manipulator and who’s going to get manipulated. This guy is good – he seems to have the “gift of gab.” He attempts to get me into something – anything - that cost more than what I was looking to spend. I told the guy how much money I had… well, not everything I had, but… I told him what I wanted him to THINK I had. He’s been around though, he probably figured I had more cash to spend. First he showed me a badly damaged Atlas. He knew I couldn’t afford it. But, I knew why he showed it – he was showing off. I mean – HE HAD AT ATLAS! I have to admit, I was impressed. But, it was way out of my price range. Than a Catapult. Again, way out of my price range! That’s where I got a bit aggressive. I mean I had to show this guy I wasn’t some sucker. I was very stern with him as I told him that I didn’t want to waste his or my time and that if he didn’t have anything in my price range I would take my business elsewhere. He must have believed me because he then began to show me his light Mechs. But, again – ones that were way more expensive than what I was willing to pay. I explained how I was looking for a “project”. We went into his scrap yard – an area of his facility where he keeps Mechs that are in need of major repair. First, he showed me a Spider, then a Jenner, then two Cicadas. But, the prices he was mentioning were all well above my price range. I asked “Do you have anything cheaper” – he shook his head no. I apologized for wasting his time and began to leave the facility. On the way out, he laughed and in a joking matter pointed to a Jenner being loaded onto a transport vehicle. He says “Ill sell you that one cheap” and laughed again. The Jenner was in obvious disrepair. I think it was a JR7-D but I couldn’t be sure. I began to walk towards it. He laughed again and said “Dude, I was joking”. I gave the Jenner a good look all the while the slickster tells me, “Don’t waste your time, two people tried to get that piece of junk working – it’s slotted for salvage – it’s scheduled to be picked up tonight. That was it! There was his mistake! I knew how much a typical junkyard charged for a 35 ton mech. I told him Id give him $200k which is about 20% over the going rate of salvaged parts. He agreed. He went to shake my hand but before he did, he informed me “It would need to be out of my hanger by morning. I tried to convince him to give me more time but he was stern stating the Mech was “taking up too much real estate”. I thought to myself… I have to buy more time.. hmmm… I can give him the rest of my money to extend my time, but, then what? Il have a Mech but no money for food or lodging. Heck with it! Ill sleep in my car and Ill find food; Ill eat Ramon noodles every day if I have too. So I made him an offer. I offered an additional $2k for him to allow the Mech and me to stay in his Mechbay for a few days; we agreed to four days. We shook hands. I gave him the cash. He looked me in the eye and said “Four days; on the fifth day, regardless if it’s running or not, it and you are gone!”................................................... This story is now at Chapter 12 - come join us to see what happens to BQQ and the rest of the boys in the KW!!

The Knight Wardens are now recruiting!
We are a group of individuals with Christian values, who come together in a family friendly environment. Treating others with a high degree of respect and dignity is our trademark.

While being competitive is something we strive towards, our greater goal is to build friendships. The game simply provides the conduit for that.

Mechwarrior Online is currently our game of choice. However, many of us look forward to the highly anticipated Star Citizen.

If you are interested in becoming part of our group, feel free to contact me or fill out an application at http://knightwardens...com/application.

See you on the battlefield!

Missed everyone yesterday Rebuilt my computer from scratch, including a fresh install of the operating system and a new hard drive. Had a few scary moments since I was making it up as I went, but everything turned out well in the end. Looking forward to dropping with the Knight Wardens this week. Thanks to Pete for getting me set up on 3 Jagermech builds.

Man, I gotta find some time to get some tourney drops in. Unfortunately, it's budget season at church and for some crazy reason they put me in charge! Maybe I'll get a chance to drop once I'm all dizzy from staring at numbers. :P

Wow I had lots of fun with my new Heavy Metal build and stayed up with Rhynin grinding c-bills until very late. I'm starting to love to refine mechs once again in the mechbay - I got solid flankers atm.

Sharing this kind of info amongst the group is a key part of our success in-game but speaks volumes as to how we cooperate with each other to make our collective gaming experiences better!

Yeah, it's definitely to the point where I really like to get feedback from y'all on my builds before I even try to run 'em. I've learned lots of good tips for making great (if expensive) builds.
