You forgot the single most important Mech; The Omega!

Not forgot if you check 1 year maybe 2 yrs lol I posted I wanted that mech got flamed hardcore by the TT olds then got a warning for hurting thier feelings by Paul when I defended myself. The Omega is a Super Heavy doubt we will get any mech over 100 tons. I wish we could but the cries would be too much for the forum to handle.

Someday, someone on this forum will post up a poll where the choices are not fraught with biased wordings. On that day, I shall vote in it.

Also, you can keep your munchkin mechs, and we'll keep our timeline. :P

Er... what's left of it anyway. <_<

Simple question with simple answers of yes and no. I really don't see how it's biased...

I like the 1:1 timeline for the time being, at least till the clanner invasion dies down(not too sure on exacts here) after that i could see time jumps working with a founders/pheonix type package before hand.

ECM light mechs would peck that thing to death.

Here is how the fight would go (Time index 1:01):

Just revert to 3034 and then jump a tech level every second year

Bam everyone happy, and PGI has two years to balance all the new stuff.

As long as I get to use a timberwolf or any of the mad cat variants I don't care what timeline it puts me in. its been my fav mech of all time and getting to use it would be well worth buy plus its iconic for MW (being on the cover of a few game titles)

on the Clans war subject, I hope they do add some sorta faction based MP system or least something else cuz the game will start to get boring quickly.

I think that the lore and the universe are what makes this game so awesome and so I think that keeping a timeline is super important. I voted yes because I would rather have an intact timeline than just blowing the tech load now and getting rid of any semblance of timeline.

That being said I would personally prefer to have an intact timeline but sped up 2:1 or something like that so it doesnt take 10 years to get to some of the other cool stuff. I also think that a timeline reset should be done so that the clan invasion can be done according to cannon.

I think the timeline adds something exciting.

I have a better idea. Let's go back to 3025 tech and ignore the clan invasion travesty altogether.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, the 1:1 timeframe is lunacy.

Seriously, how many of you think this game will even be here in ten years, let alone twenty or thirty?

How many of us will still be gamers in ten years?

How many of us will be alive in ten years?

How many people can actually play the same competitive multiplayer game fairly regularly over a period of ten years?

Its just makes no sense to actually keep it. Its a neat idea, sure, but that doesn't mean it'll work. My recommendation would be to speed the game up to at the very least a 4:1 timeframe. MW:O isn't going to be around in fifteen years. That's not a knock at the quality of the game, its just not feasible to expect that. I give it maybe ten at the most. This is a free-to-play game, remember, so its lifespan will probably end up shorter than that of subscription MMOs like World of Warcraft. Shortening the timeline create a ton more events and content for players in a significantly shorter amount of time, and it'll increase the revenue the game can make over its lifespan.

As PGI, I'd scrap thetimeline and introduce each year a new Event/Operation, which last for 12-18 months, introducing new mechs and (later) new equipment and put the timeline forward.
3050: Clan Invasion (Clan mechs, some IS Mechs - e.g. Mauler, King Crab)
3057: Operation Guerrero / Refusal War - some Mechs of TRO 3055 & 3058
3060: Second StarLeague (Death of Clan SmokeJaguar, St. Ives Conflict) w/ Mech from TRO 3058 (especially Clan)
3062: FedCom Civil war w/ Mechs from TRO3060 & 3067
3067: Jihad - Dawn of the Jihad (TRO 3067)
3072: Jihad - Turning the Tide (TRO 3075)
3075: Jihad - Retribution (TRO 3075)
3079: Jihad - Endgame (TRO 3085)
3085: The Republic (TRO 3085)

Enough stuff for 10 real years. If the game survive long enough...
After that the Brush Wars between 3085 and 3130 as well as the years after 3130 give also enough stuff.

honestly have absolutly ZERO interest in the Jihad storyline {Scrap}. and i really would rather see that timeline as never existing.

I do want them to stick to the 1:1, but I also want them to hold off on implementing it until the game is (really) ready to launch. It's real close now, and after Phoenix drops to the community at large, there'll be a lot of variety in the mechs on the field. But I think they should start the count when CW becomes viable.

That's the only thing that makes sense for me. So hopefully we have CW by Jan 1, 2014 (not likely, but come on) and they can start THAT as Jan 1, 3050 (even though they've already celebrated that date in the beta). I just don't see the point of it if CW and the Clans aren't active.

By this point in the canon, if we're going by the official timeline, the clan invasion is already well into its fourth wave, having carved deeply into the Inner Sphere. In a little over a month, the first ilKhan of the clans will be killed, creating a big rift in that faction.

In my humble opinion? They CAN'T start the 1:1 until they implement community warfare or they're going to blow the most interesting part of the meta-plot.

This.

I treat it like I do the Brian Herbert DUNE novels; it's a cartoon version of the real thing. I don't really consider it cannon, even if the authors or copyright holders do.

According to interviews on NGNG, they're going to at least reset the timeline so they can do the Clan invasion properly when the time comes. Given the rate at which they're introducing mechs, there is no reason to drop the 1:1 thing for a while... there are so many mechs out there. Be patient, they'd be fools not to want to sell you all the mechs they can, but you're going to have to wait.

I can't see them inventing their own mechs. Variant dabbling is totally different than pulling a new chassis from the air.
