I am able to play this game fine on my desktop at home but when with my laptop is a whole other story. first when i downloaded the game through the patcher, it would download everything and then error out so "play" wasnt an option but rather "patch" was my only option in the mwo downloader. i tried downloading 2 more times with the same error (sorry this was a few days ago and forgot the name of error). anyway, after reading some forums on the matter i used the repair tool and i was able to successfully install and log into the game. everything was fine until i clicked launch. a game was successfully found and the match started loading but then abruptly ended with the FRead something or other. the 2nd time i got the FRead error was during same period of loading a found match. after that i got the FRead error a few more times but it would happen randomly while just sitting in windowed game menu. i cant find anything current in regards to fixing this issue other than using repair tool, doing a fresh reinstall, and/or praying to the gaming gods that it might actually work (i know hte game works because it runs flawlessly on my other computer). ive tried all these things :S i saw some other recent threads about FRead error but with no response of a fix from developers. hello?!?! is anyone out there? i realize this is a free to play game and support may be limited. i usually spend some money on free to play games that i like to support the developers (which i like this game) but i cant justify spending any money if i cant consistently play

Trust me, you arent the only one getting this problem.
This issue has been around since 2012 and still hasnt been fixed.
Welcome to CryEngine3 basically.
do a forum search there have been numerous threads related to this issue and you may find something that works for you. (I havent found anything that works for me though).
Best solution I have found so far seems to be installing the most recent graphics drivers, and running the mwo repair tool.
however expect mixed success until pgi officially confirm the issue and stamp it out.

Same issue for me. Only thing you can do is use the repair tool. And perhaps copy the MWO folder right after. And use the copy to replace the corrupted files next time.

I've found a reliable solution, which is to download it on another computer, run the error checker right away, then if it shows no errors, copy over the MechWarrior online folder on your computer that was having the errors. I actually keep a copy of the folder on my phone, so if I get the corruption error again I can just recopy it. It's a bizarre error, and I don't see why PGI don't just put the game files out as a torrent each patch. Alternatively you could get a friend with a working install to put their folder up on a dropbox, I guess?
