Map Rotation, Balanced?

Posted ImageI was looking at my stats, and its ridiculus how the map rotation is working out right now, for example Tourmaline desert is the map I get the most vs Caustic valley been the less played, with a difference of 301 matches between both...ridiculus right? check this out:



Have no idea on how to fix that.....

I have no hard evidence of the code, but it would seem that they set the basic frequency of each map so that there's a roughly even balance between small and large maps. Since there's more small maps and fewer large maps, the individual large maps will appear more often than the individual small maps.

Add to that the introduction phase for new maps, when the frequency is set higher, and it makes sense. We all know that phase was rather long for TD, and the frequency was set crazy high.

But this should be fix, I mean nobody wants to play those big *** maps more than 2 times per night. Even the small maps get a quote when u get them more than 3 times in a row. But getting Tourmaline Desert 5 times in a row and Therma other 6 times in a row, is kinda depressing.....

This should be addressed, and there is hard evidence on how many times we are getting those maps.

If we get more ppl into post a screenshot to fix the map rotation, I guess we can get PGI attention on this matter. No UI2.0 yet, then at least fix the code to get the proper BALANCED amount of maps in the game.

I haven't been on Caustic all day. Kind of miss that map at this point.

Post a screen shot from ur map stats page, lets make them look at the numbers!!

Tourmaline chance was increased when it was a new map for testing purposes, you basically got it every other game, if not more.
Terra Therma is newish, so low count is to be expected. All others seem to be within a reasonable deviation given sample size. Canyon and alpine are probably just outliers.

Seems pretty reasonable to me =/

I agree that the rotation needs to be fixed...while I haven't played as many matches I have noticed the problem as well. For the maps that were available early in the open beta I have between 52 and 57 matches on each. Tourmaline has 98, canyon network has 80, and Terra Therma 31 matches (I've stopped playing as much since it came out, but after playing 10 matches today and getting Terra six times I figured something was up). I don't think the new bigger maps are bad, but when that's all you get it gets a little old.

So right now there are 8 maps. Three of those 8 will take up the majority of your matches....why?

Yeah. If I could not get Therma twice in a row...that'd be great...yeahhhh....
