It has been revealed that PGI has nothing to offer us after a year or so of development concerning community warfare.

I won't make the baseless claim that this game's not going anywhere soon. Instead, I'll create a small list.
Initial release date of end of 2012 summer- No CW.
Open beta release- No CW.
The game's release- NO CW.
six months from now- ????

Anywho, because there's nothing left to look at here I'll leave you mods and the remaining white nights and disgruntled founders alone for a year or so--however long it takes for them to add this feature. Then, and only then, will I return.

If something should happen to me while I'm gone, I want any random person to take my place disrespecting PGI and otherwise applying criticism liberally to this unfinished thing.

This is the part where I'd offer to give away all my items(If they could be transferred between players).

I'd love to hang around and chat, but I've got nothing good to say(Other than that PGI released some nice plans again, and the game's graphics are not ugly.), so I'll leave that job to the white knights. Continue enjoying the game.

In this thread, discuss:
How excited you are that PGI is going to release phase 1 in 6 months.(I believe that was their claim)
How this game's development is going to start gaining momentum, delivering record levels of measurable productivity.
About how you all love me so much, and will be counting the hours until that fateful day.
And about whether the game will continue updating like minecraft, with 1.X.X patch-based updates, or will opt to release updates less frequently, but more substantially.

Not a single piece of content outside of mechs and maps in two years. That should really be every single player's mantra. I don't care how you look at it, that's what it boils down to. Not one bit of advancement when it comes to any kind of content in TWO YEARS. That means that in 24 months there has not been any content added other than a few maps and mechs. No cw, no game modes, no nothing. I just can't see how anyone can say that's an acceptable rate of progression

You could've done the polite thing, and just left quietly. Instead you chose to make a deal out of it. I hope you enjoyed your soap box, but it's about to be jettisoned. See you in a year.

(also this isn't news.)

I think it is phase 1 soon after UI 2.0(which should be live in 4 weeks) and whole CW(phase 3) in 6 months....BUT CW was SUPPOSED to be there 3 months after OB so...Hey I do not care bcuz since I bought phoenix and Saber I do not need to spend a dime on this game for 6 months or so...bcuz they are not gonna release 2 mechs per month...so I can decide if I spend more or not after those 6 months :) .

just leave quietly? on a game we have probably waited for for over 5 years? on a game that was met with bright lights now shut off in everything except the California Launch Tournament?

No. We will not.

a few posters, along with I, have tried hammering points down which include

Community Warfare
Community Content
Community "Other Stuff"

they've repeatedly missed deadlines and left us in the dark, and then jettisoned our questions... That is Very Bad Business, and I can pull up a phone number to an EA or 2K games help desk and get more information about their stuff , AFTER GETTING PUT ON HOLD, THEN PASSED AROUND PHONES, THEN GETTING AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE.

my guess though is CW will be dropped around the same time as the Phoenix mechs. If that doesn't happen the amount of QQ on the forums people pulling support on MWO will be near-catastrophic.

Kay. Go ahead and make a scene. It's still unproductive.

Why make a thread about this?

Ok, I'll keep criticizing everything that is *****. But with CW, you can't really criticize the fact that it's not here yet, it's kind of like having kids in the back seat repeatedly saying "are we there yet?" If CW is rushed out, and there are some things that aren't that great, then you could apply critisizm to that I suppose. But this sort of thing of "oh, it's not here yet" just looks like whinging.

What? 6 months? Uhh, no. That's not set in stone. How are you going to determine that it will be ready for public testing in 6 months? It could go either way, it could go to public testing sooner than 6 months, or more than 6 months. I hope none of the conspiracy theorists start making crazy rants about it, if it's not ready before 6 months.

If I'm doing more of the entertaining than PGI's MW:O, then have a serious problem.

I wonder if people will pay me for new content?

I'm finding it amazing how so many people who enjoy the game seem to spend more time with worrying about someone else's opinion on it

Gotta remember, they went from Nothing to what we have now, in two years. When you stop and think about that, that's really fast. I believe they reworked the engine(not sure on the details)as well, so literally from nothing. That's really really fast. Most games take a few years just to get into alpha.

So when you take that into account, it makes some things make sense.

The level of sarcasm coming from you is reprehensible. Have you really tricked yourself into believing that 24 months of activity from PGI's programming department is worth minor balance changes and convoluted mechanics they have contributed to the game?

Enjoy your island, anybody with any common sense got burnt out and left this game months ago.
Personally, I haven't touched it since 3pv.

CryEngine 3 has had DX11 natively since April, they would be better off starting from scratch.

24 months? I've been in since closed beta round 2. It hasn't been 24 months.

Well I was thinking of Rebooting the EARTHSEIGE series, which falls under the TRIBES IP, which most likely held by HI-REZ studios.

-Earthsiege is basically a mirror version of BATTLETECH but with more scifi stuff like Cyborgs and Energy shields

HERE GOES MY PITCH:

EARTHSEIGE ONLINE:

Engines: UNREAL 3 with PHYSX and SPEEDTREE support

Plot: A new breed of humans are created, known as CYBRIDS; perfect, accurate, dependable... expendable. Corporations driven by war see this as an economic purpose and deploy them to take over the Sol System's dwindling resources, Using HERCULANs (Humanoid-Emulation Robotized Combat Unit with Leg-Articulated Navigation) as their choice vehicles of war.

mechanics: the Player will choose a corporation to play under, with different bonuses based on the Corporation chosen.

battles will be fought on a three-dimensional map, while battles won or lost will be used to calculate factors

1. territory controlled
2. bonuses enacted
3. different immersion additive information

The game will have an overarching 3-D representation of the Sol System with all 9 planets (including Pluto), their respective moons and protomoons, and a few protoplanets outside the scientific "Frostline".

Each Non-Gaseous planet will be split into territories based on size and terrain, with the mapfiles designated for that select territory (multiple maps may be included on a territory)

Each Gaseous planet will have territories on man-made stations of different size, again with the mapfiles designated for that select territory (multiple maps may be included on a territory)

Each player will be given several HERCS with the ability to customize them to their liking with different classes of parts and weapons, with the ability to purchase different tonnage chassis as players are rewarded. Players may also take advantage of the map's resources as a way to increase team and faction rewards.

to maintain player balance, if one corporation becomes too powerful or weak, special events may happen to improve balance such as special rewards or other random events.

modes provided:

Team Deathmatch
Resource Collection
Attack and Defend
Convoy protection
Convoy Race
Control Point Domination
King of the Hill
Gladiator (1 versus 1)
Intelligence capture (CTF)

Extension of content will be provided by both developers and the community with contests being held ever so often.
---

Oh, wait, you were joking... well ****.

If they had directed resources used for things like 3pv and ghost heat towards cw we might not even be having this conversation. They have had opportunities but have chosen to prioritize different things. One of the things stated by Paul I think was working on things players were starving for. Well I posted a poll asking what players were starving for and know what #1 is? Yup, cw. I don't think it's a matter of not having resources to get it done, I honestly feel it's more of they mismanage and prioritize wrongly.

Just use a kickstarter or crowd finding and you'll be set. In two years all you'll need are two deathmatcj modes with cap points and a few maps lo,
