Is it me or are all the loadouts the same nowadays, lights have no fear of big mechs and it's all a bit bland. I miss big loadouts too many nerfs have left variety at the door.

So is your idea of variety a bunch of people attempting to stuff Dual ERPPC's + Gauss into every possible 'Mech?
Or do you actually mean variety as in one-off "Doolittle" builds. (As in the Doolittle raid, ultimately useless but terrifying none the less)

OmegaOrgun:
Over a period of a dozen matches or so, I saw a 4-man team of LRM flingers (I think you and I were on that match, and IIRC you DC-ed or afk-ed), then a 4-man team of PPC snipers in another match, and then a team of brawlers, and then a pack of lights, and then of course several uAC5 boats here and there.
I don't know about you but I enjoy the variety.

I love your analogy to "Doolittle" builds.

I do get what your are saying, with balance starting to get nearer its time to drop ghost heat. You will find more weapons being used again.
Ghost heat was a bandaid, a contrived one at that, time to remove it and move on with true balance.

To paraphrase Plato: Only the dead have seen the end of buff and nerf.

Yea, I never understood the argument about the nerfs limiting build creativity. When everyone ran one OP build, that never equated to variety on the battlefield.
There may be other arguments for lifting the nerfs (ghost heat, weapon fragility, etc...), but loadout variety doesn't seem like a good one to make.
