Are we going to get recycled maps for different planets or will there be new maps for each planet? If not it might be a tad immersion breaking.

Would there be a way to do procedurally generated maps? I would take that over the painstakingly slow (but really balanced) custom maps anyday.

It would give new worlds all kinds of excitement. I understand this may be beyond the scope of the game, just wondering. If we get say Tourmaline Desert as it is now for 20 different planets that just seems a bit awkward.

Recycled maps for each planet.

PGI does not have the resources or time for their pace to produce enough maps to give immersion in that aspect.

Don't plan on anything CW important to happen within the next 8 month either. Just be glad we get UI.20 before December, regardless of what Brian said at the presentation.

Remember last time he said "Dx11 in TWO weeks!" Hint, that was exactly 1 year ago.

Ouch. If they only were willing to let people create maps for them ..Some good mappers from MWLL could make good maps for free.. What a missed chance.

I wasn't sure if the Crytek engine would allow for randomly generated terrain. Time spent tweaking something like that for MWO might have a huge huge payoff if it's possible.

Otherwise they will need to hire some more people! I have patience, so long as a vision remains clear :)

EDIT: I mean, look at what they are doing with Star Citizen. The release is set for 2015 for all that goodness. I wonder where MWO will be in 2015? GONNA 0WN!!!!!!

PGI should be expanding a lot, at the very least they need a helluva lot more artists to crank out the content, but my prediction is that if they don't improve the gameplay there's gonna be hard times ahead either way.

On Star Citizen, let's hope this time they won't run out of money before the project is finished. I want to see a game that is what Freelancer should have been. Not that Freelancer wasn't great, but it could have been so much more.

I personally wouldn't consider the maps from MW:LL good, nor suitable for a game with a low number of players and no respawn.

This is a great question, especially now. They have said the Inner Spere Wars would be finished in the next 6 months. If so, by default players can expect that they will be focusing alot on nothing but map creation for the next 5 months or so.

This guess is based on the idea that phase 1 is nearly or fully complete if it is to be live in near a month and a half time maybe less.

Phase 2 is front fighting, which is the galaxy map ui and should, i am guessing, include alot of maps.

Phase 3 is the actual planet conquest and stuff, meaning tons of maps and modes, emphasis on the modes.

The only other alternative is they have everything completed already and are just choosing this schedule for fun. :)

I guess I just want to reiterate that I would be more happy with quantity over quality maps at this point. They don't have to be painstakingly designed down to the last rock placement like they seem to be doing now. I really think this day and age they should push the envelope with procedurally generated terrain. Again, I'm not even sure this is possible with the engine. If not, maybe they can forego the microscope on each map and just crank out generic maps and terrain just to get some quantity. How long did they say making a map takes now?

I mean, if you are going to do a big universe and meta game, do it proper! Go big or go home, we'll pay through the nose to get this content. (again, see Star Citizen)

Just make it real! Something of substance instead of a vague 'yeah that would be cool, maybe later on'. Money will just start falling out of my wallet.

One of my favourite map ideas that has yet be added and shouldnt take to much time to do is the Dune Sea map, basically a generic very large dune sea with rolling dunes for cover only and not much else. Not a map i would want to play 10 times in a row but an example of a map that could be added fairly quickly and would add a new look to the maps already out.
