Once upon a time, Atlas eyes glowed a fierce, demonic red...and it was awesome.

Then people noticed that you could see that terrifying gaze...from across the battlefield, and due to player input, PGI removed this feature.

Personally, I thought it was an EXCELLENT perk of driving an Atlas to have those menacing peepers...

So...since we know PGI has coded the eyes...and they have a code for toggling (see missile bay doors) why not include this feature again and put it on a toggle for player preference?

56 seconds in on the launch trailer so a good example.

Given that people run around with their TAG lasers keyed on constantly and I can pick out most mechs from accross the map with regular zoom, I don't see and issue.

Gimme my bad *** Atlas.

Make it where we can turn it off and on and that will stop making the babies cry. Just like turning on the light in the cockpit or opening the bay doors to missiles.

Don't worry, the hero atlas "boarhead" will have one energy slot in the head so you can mount a tag in there. That will be 7500mc thanks.

I want my Atlas to look like a Skull Faced Mech of Doom (C) and therefore would LOVE to see the return of the glowing demonic eyes. Very cool sugestion! Pretty please PGI?

Opportunity for PGI to make it a module or MC upgrade. <- It just paid for itself.

How about making the eyes only visible to someone you have targeted? Or if that is too hard to program, make them light up only when you have someone targeted.

There's a good chance of that...but I'm guessing a nominal fee...and since it's purely cosmetic, it'll be there for those who want it. The more people who voice an opinion via the poll, the better chance for visibility.

With a fair share of it coded in some form, it shouldn't be terribly hard to implement, and PGI has to know that PLENTY of Atlai pilots would jump on it.

Wasn't the reason they removed the glowing eyes due to the fact that you could see it across the map? It was a sniper target sign.

I'd like it within 250 meters. Otherwise please no.

Yes, and if you read the OP I'm suggesting we give players the ability to toggle it on and off, so if they're visible, it's on their head.

Unfortunately, I can't see if the Atlas has his eyes on from behind. So unlike the third person view drone, which does the same thing, I've no idea if I should probably be going the other way.

Glowing Red eyes to strike terror in the heart of the unsuspecting Patron Loader Pilot; I really like this.

Every game with my group would start with,
"I see Atlas eyes in their base."

Its a standing joke now,
please, please bring it back.

I also love the idea for them to glow after kill, like the music from Heavy Metal

Atlas eyes should glow whenever the rock'n roll highlander would have played music.

I ould love to see it back and togglable. Leave them off for the approach, and as soon as you take fire at close range light em up and push hard at whatever was dumb enough to get your attention... that`ll scare the living daylights out of some poor PUG, but even more experienced players will likely still feel somewhat intimidated at an atlas turning their way, lighting up it`s eyes, and then coming right for them. :D

How about making them glow brighter as the pilot gets more kills?

If he kills 11 mechs, the final enemy mech should be unable to look directly at him without being blinded.

:D.
