So I'm curious, which mechs do you guys think are best suited towards using the AC5 and UAC5?

That would be user preference, I don't think there is any clear choice which is better.
I don't have a mech with AC/5 on it, but 3 with UAC/5. That's my preference.

Cant afford jamming when your mech has a low amount of weapons. I use 2 AC5's and 2 med lasers on my 7k trebuchet. The best I've done is around 768 damage. It's a long range flanking/harrasser mech build.

The 3 UAC Ilya is beast. Chainfire the UACs and you get a faster rate of fire than the AC5s chainfired with no jams. Just click away as fast as you can and you do not get hammered with jams. It creates enough delay so it is not a double tap.

I recently decided that with the slower firing UAC5, the AC5 is a superior weapon. The greater change of jamming, and slower firing rate, means I'd rather get 2 shots off, then the possibility of getting only 1, or 3 in the same amount of time.

I'm using dual UAC5 on my Altai now, seems to work decent enough. its more effective then a single gauss or AC20, and I don't mind the jamming since ill be forced to hold fire anyway (heat).

I've been using twin AC5 with twin LLs on my K2 since late last year. It just works. People used to think I was on drugs when I said that twin AC5 compete well with AC20s and Gauss. Now that the meta has been shifted away from brawling and the Gauss made counter-intuitive, people are finally starting to realize I was right.

Well since I'm usually an exclusive Jenner F pilot - aside from the occasional sniper Stalker - I'm surprised by the UAC5s firepower - and range.
On my Atlas they are the main guns (2xLL 2xUAC5 3xSRM6) and do well as a sniper weapon or for the required burst power in brawling. Yes the jamming can be annoying, yet sniping is all about moving in and out of cover - which so there is no actual loss.
I just wished an Atlas had 3 ballistic hard-points- in different areas. Then a gain from a Jenner perspective I don't...

I've been experimenting with 2 AC/5s (along with 3 MLs) on my Fang. Only had a few matches, but so far it's working pretty well. Of course, 2 AC/2s work pretty well too. I guess I need to decide between these two builds. I think AC/5s kill quicker, but AC/2s are far better at suppression. Hmm.

I think the AC5's do a bit too much dmg - out of they range. They basically replace a sniper rifle...

I would like to use UAC's but the RNG hates me so I can't justify it unless I've mounted three of them.
