<Pressure was building and I needed to write a rant thread. Forgive me forum Gods>

PGI,

I will pay you money if you give me the option to play this game without ECM. I know it doesn't make sense to split the userbase and it'll rage some players. But I will make you richer for it! After playing MWO since closed beta, I have come to realize (and accept) that my level of enjoyment with MWO took a huge hit when ECM debuted and has never really recovered.

I think the past and present ECM mechanics are lame and too black and white to create interesting gameplay choices. When the Project Phoenix package was released, everyone was in those mechs and we had MUCH less ECM in the game. You know what? I was actually having fun! A few weeks later and everyone is back to the old favorites and we're back to the same old {Scrap}.

Put simply; I don't have fun playing with or against ECM. I hate it so much, I'm willing to pay for a specific queue where ECM was never invented.

I know MWO community; I must be the most terrible pilot ever to not be able and handle ECM, but I actually get about the same scores regardless of ECM or not. I just find it annoying and a stupid mechanic that screams broken every time I see it. Yes, this is a QQ ECM rage thread, but the fact is I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.

I've been playing this game a long time, but I'm getting seriously burnt out here. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT ANYTHING. Show us that this game is more than just new mechs and a new map each month.

Learn to use something other than Streaks and LRMs.

Nowadays, ECM really doesn't bother me much.

Yea, other than the very occasional sneaky ******* getting a back shot in, ECM isn't a big deal.

OP, if you want people to take you seriously, stop bragging about your scores being the same etc (which btw means nothing as you were dealing with pilots using Mechs they weren't used to, experimenting with builds etc) and tell us what exactly ECM does that bugs you. Then we might see where you are coming from.

TBH, my stats bear out that having ECM = more wins and better k-d ratio than the other variants (it's designed as such for the most part). Saying that you aren't benefiting is foolish at best.... unless you play that poorly that ECM is not a factor.

If you choose not to use LRM's or Streaks then that's fine, but players shouldn't feel forced to not use certain weapons that they like because of one OP piece of equipment.

I use LRMs almost exclusively, so I have no idea what either of you are talking about. ECM doesn't bother me. L2Dumbfire

Look, ECM is not gamebreaking in it's current form (although it very nearly was when introduced), but I still don't like it's implementation. Would be so much better if it simply blocked radar lock and ID's at range, but still allowed missile locks (perhaps with a slower lock on time). What it should do in relation to missiles is counter TAG, Narc, and Artemis. Then make LRM's weak without TAG, Narc, or artemis, and very powerful with any two of the three affecting the target. Would be far more interesting than the current system.

I don't know, I always wish I could see the face of a ECM Atlas out in an open field that suddenly finds himself with 100+ missiles inbound from 3 directions when I am in my spotter mechs. I get much humor in watching a "Hidden" group of flankers suddenly find themselves the target of a lot of attention.
