So, while at the Launch, bought a copy of the 3145 TRO (got Randall Bills to sign it, too), and have to say that while the era is not my favorite, it did have some cool designs (the Lament might be one of the best heavy Mechs since the Timber Wolf).
One of them was the re-worked Blakist drone Battlemech called the Revenant. So I wondered how it would look with a cockpit. Fortunately, with 3.5 tons of drone control gear, it was easy to fin the tonnage to put a standard cockpit in, as well as an experimental "Quad" turret. I also decided to swap out the quad light MG for a pair of standard MG. Lastly, added BAP and ECM to it.
The fluff is that an enterprising Mech Engineer and some of his colleagues saw an opportunity. After the Jihad there were HUNDREDs of destroyed and shut down Revenant drones. As part of a unit tasked to clean up and dispose of the wreckage from the battlefield, he saw opportunity. What if, with minor repairs, he could refit them with standard cockpits and re-sell them? With some help from some friends from the Solaris Skunkworks, within a year the first UBM-3M(anned) were available, and within a few months after that, the Revenants success in the arenas (and the infamy attached to it's Blakist origin) appealed to people looking to display a bad boy image, and sales sky rocketed.
(simple pencil and paper sketch, but have no scanner access, so picture taken with my cell phone)
Thoughts?

That looks really, really neat!
But I can't find this 'Lament' anywhere. What kinda mech was that?

65 tonner. It's in the newest TRO.
84 kph top speed. 12.5 tons light ferro armor and protected actuators. 15(30) dhs. 2 Heavy PPC and 3 er Medium Lasers and a Radical Heatsink System. (think multi-use coolant flush)
It's a right bloody beast.

Sounds awesome! If only... pictures! *gahk!*
But it seems there aren't any yet. Too bad.

I love the quads. One of my favorite mechs out there being the Stalking Spider, of all things. Proof that a quadmech does not need to be a piece of junk.

always loved that mech too
Pity the Stalking Spider II got derped with the ammo feed problems for it's Quad turret. Like your take on the Revenant, maybe with a pilot it will have less... issues with ECM. Then again i am partial to the Thunder Fox, the Carronade, and the new Anubis aesthetics.
