Hello,

I am relatively new to MWO, but have been a huge fan of BT and MW, having played all the games except Crescent Hawk's Revenge.

After the first few days of elation of being able to pilot a mech again, I am, as I believe with many of the members here, disappointed with the content and metagame.

Where is the CW, persistent world (September of 3050, at least half of Lyran Commonwealth and Draconis Combine should be invaded by Clan, with most of the Periphery conquered) and UI 2.0?

I am fortunate in that I have only invested $65 on this game so far (MC purchase to climb out of trial mech purgatory). I believe there are many here who have spent $200 or more.

Unfortunately, I believe that is the problem. People are purchasing mechs (9x 55 ton mechs in the phoenix plus saber pack) instead of gameplay. As long as PGI/IGP is earning income with simple, redundant 12 v 12 online combat, there is no motivation or pressure to release the content they have announced. Just hints and assurances of "some day", while PGI moves on to MW tactics and other projects.

It would be nice for the company to focus on completing this game before moving on to other things, but I guess paying attention to detail and getting the rest of the game done is just too much hard work.

I would be a huge supporter of this game and back it up with more purchases, but currently it's not worth it. It's not even worth $30, but I spent $65 and... oh well.

At least I can stop myself from investing further and just enjoy the simple gameplay that is offered now.

I am new to this community and do not know how to start a poll thread. I would appreciate someone starting a poll to ask the community who would stop purchasing MC and mech packs until new content is released.

The metagame is to get killed by the various weapons and then come on the forums to complain about them until they're nerfed into oblivion.

You're right. They say they care. They show they don't.

fixed that for you

you would like it to working with NDAS and Publishers wich can sue you to oblivion
if they want ...

not saying that IGP is bad just that normally a Publisher is deciding on the how, when
and the information that is allowed to leak and such
probably too community interaction profiles

We have got a fixer! Sadly not fixing the good stuff.

They still show they don't care.

The fact that the big boys are behind our dear devs, telling them stories (aka orders), do not mean that they are innocent. Why do you think they released this game even in this incomplete state? They can't not launch it - I have a feeling that if they did not, they would have been sued big time. If you don't deliver by X day, you will have to pay for compensation to the investors - probably in the millions.

I have some experience in publishing, I know people in gaming industries. I understand that sometimes hands are tied... but it is not an excuse. PGI did show, over and over again, that they care much less then they claim.

It does not matter if, deep down, they are crying to be able to make this game work - however, as a product, the exterior sells and this is not looking good. The game is lacking pathetically, issues keep coming and going and coming, they can't keep promises to save their lives, they go back on their words constantly, they censor bad press everywhere in desperation. They are showing that they don't care enough to keep an image of caring.

Sure they may not tell us everything - actually, they simply can't, which is perfectly normal in business. But there's a right way to word how one communicate and there's a wrong way: and they are stuck in doing it wrong. Using a 3rd party podcast as a way to give out information, instead of their own mean of communication, that they created and technically should nurture? Of course sometimes the press must know before the masses, but too often is a horrible idea. For what should be professionals, this is unexcusable and frankly stupid.

So I ask: do they really care?
Are they showing us - vocal minority, silent majority, potential costumers - that they care?
And by they, I mean PGIIGP. They are together in this mess, indeed, even if most of us blame PGI directly.

I think the "metagame" from the OP's description is not really about mechs and balance... but rather... there is no actual goal to aspire to.

So maybe you have found that one variant you like, but is it fun to grind the other 2 variants so your favorite mech variant can be mastered? Not everyone is going to enjoy that... heck not everyone even does it (which is a bad idea, but it's their choice).

In any case... there's nothing to actually play for unless you think grinding many many more mechs will get you some reward... which so far is nothing of worth at the moment.

I dunno about metagame... still too new in the game... but I just wanted to agree with this statement. I bought the Jenner F variant, love it and maxed out the basic upgrades. But to get the Elite thing I have to pilot the Jenner D and Jenner K... so I bought the Jenner K and I absolutely hate that overheating piece of junk. Now I'm not even sure I want to buy the Jenner D and suffer through the same when I just want to fly around in my Jenner F...

There's no spoon metagame. Only grinding. And when it's done, there's nothing.
Not even fun, 'cause adjustments of game make it act like a woman on PMS. HSR may or may not work, MM is just lottery, weapons change constantly but not into useful direction, n00bs cry like babies that everything is OP etc.

Geek test! You pass! Joke.
It would be nice to see something like those pics on MWO.
Just play this game like you would counterstrike or that other steam game that has the big guy with the gatling gun and doctors that shoot syringes. No metagame but dang super fun in spurts.

You can't compare this game to CS or TF. CS is the most complex but simple FPS game ever created. TF is the most simple but detailed FPS ever created. Comparing this abomination to Gabe Newell's masterpieces is an insult to him and everyone playing those games.

Since they "DUMPED" the 3050 timeline they touted and used as a crutch for so long, I really just wince when someone pulls a rainbow out of their keyster saying " have patience".

A product has to cater to the consumer, and never the other way around, I give this thing 2 more months to deliver, then I will most likely spend less & less time on an unfinished product brought to market, and definitely spending ZERO DOLLARS on it until I see what I want out of MWO in terms of development.

They haven't done the worst job in the world on MWO, but a consumer can only be expected to wait so long before something else grabs their attention, and their "MONEY". Just a reality that some people deny exists.

So, if I understand this correctly, "have patience" is the new "it's a beta"?

Just checking.

I'll "have patience" when I "SEE PROGRESS". Thanks bye.

This has been an issue for the "vocal minority" for quite some time.

All I cay say is do what many players (vocal minority) have done and vote with your wallet.

And with the frustration, imagine what it has been like for those players (like myself) who have been playing since the begining of closed beta.

Hopefully at the "launch Event" we will get some more information about CW done get your hopes up on a wealth specific information...We will most likely get "CW is coming and everything is proceeding as planned and on schedule" from the devs but we will not get any substance (not going by the Dev's previous posts / releases / responses).
