Warriors,

I have grinded out about 40 Mill in Cbills. I would like to switch it up and invest into a new Mech, Thinking a Cent. However, I would hate to buy now only to see Future items out class current options or have Purchased Item become nerfed and a waste of cbills. I'm sure I am not the first person to face this decision. Thoughts, Input, or past experience shared on this topic would be appreciated. See you on the Drop.

Thanks

The centurion is pretty good for a medium mech at the moment. However, one of the reasons it's hard to kill is because of funky modeling on destroyed components. This has been a long running issue and it's anyone's guess when or if PGI will ever adjust this. If they do, the cent will die much faster. However, in the meantime it's a tough guy that works well with a standard engine. The regular weapons you will use, SRMs and Medium lasers, aren't likely to receive nerfs in the future. If anything the SRM could be buffed.

So if you like the cent I say go for it. I don't personally believe there will be any nerfs down the line that will hurt it.

Hi Tiggo,

While you have a very valid concern regarding 'will this be nerfed,' it is really for the best if you do not agonize to much over that question. A game like this will undoubtedly see balance fixes for the entirety of its run, but the nerfing of an entire chassis (while possible) is almost certainly something that would either 1) be corrected again i.e. a fix for the fix, or 2) be in line with other balance changes. I, for one, am keenly awaiting the day the Awesome is, well, awesome. I still love em, but they have issues with their current implementation that make them (appear?) imbalanced compared to other assault mechs. Jman gives excellent advice: if you like the cent, go for it. In fact, with 40 million cbills (jealous) I say go for whatever chassis strikes your fancy. Cheers.

There's always going to be SOMEthing bigger and better down the line. If you never spend any C-bills because you're afraid "future items out class current options" then you're never going to spend money. Go ahead and buy that Cent. and by the time you're done leveling it you'll probably have enough to buy another mech.

I've had 4 cents and highly reccomend it. Does very well and most variants allow a lot flexibility. A standard engine is good for zombie medium lasers In the CT due to its model. I find std cents easy to beat up but VERY hard to get the final blow on the CT. My favorite cent is the ylw with XL 300 2 mediums and ac 20, ac20 at that speed is really good looking for a soft targets to finish off or disable. The build can be done on I believe it's the A if you don't want to spend the money. However the cent is all about using that arm shield, especially if you are running a heavy ballistic in the other arm. Also I'm pretty sure the ylw has a further torso twist so makes twisting even better.
