Champion Spider? Yawn. How About Expending Some Effort For Lights?

If you aren't making enough money on lights because you charge less for them but they cost you just as much to make, well, I don't know what you expected would happen. Maybe rethink how you price things?

The only true way to do Role Warfare would be to make every single chassis cost the same amount. That way, there would be real incentive to make them all equally important to securing win conditions.
I too yawned at the lack of light support this patch. A Champion machinegun spider is not the new content we need. However, Bryan Ekman posted a hopeful tweet about having the Locust mount up to an XL190 engine. This could actually bring new and interesting content to the game instead of a DOA light. We will see how this information fleshes out, but I am hoping that the attention that we have raised to the lack of developmental attention paid to lights might be starting to take hold.

Can't wait to see PEEF gameplay footage in a locust on twitch. That'll be the day.
p.s. PEEF I love you and all, but out of all the fonts in the universe you could have used for your signature why did one of them have to be Papyrus? It makes me cringe whenever I see it.

Someone else made it for me, and frankly I really like it!

If only PGI took a course in "solid mech building". It doesn't have to be pro-level building, but at least using some "common sense".

Arms have 20 armor, and each side torso gets 28 armor to split between front and back. Lights need that rear armor. 18/10 is a risky split as it is.
And in all of my spider piloting (stats say 20 hours), I think I've been side torso killed once. The CT hitbox isn't as bad as the Jenner (you can safely roll with 5/5 in each ST unless you run into streaks; no one's hitting those tiny things), but it's not good.

IMO, back armor should be closer to 5 or 6, since you should not generally be in the position to run or take needless hits to the back. Sure there will be chasing, but you're supposed to cash in on speed and light swarming to reduce the possibility of a backshot.
I don't always shoot the sides, because it's hard as it is, but if the side torso is exposed on a light... it has always been worthwhile to finish that critical point when you know it's an XL engine.

*sighs*
Why do I have so much time invested in lights? Why? Obviously they want me playing something else
