I actually don't mind the new 'Ready' button on the top right of the screen after you enter a map.

I have always noticed throughout the years that the Mechwarrior community was always nice and very communicative. I really wouldn't mind if they kept to tradition. Allowing us to communicate with one another before a match does just that.

It also allows me to talk to new players and help them along as well if they are on my team if I have never met them.

I really don't see the personal hate or the notion of it being "bad!". I think it is just fine and I welcome it.

Ya and speaking of trolls. I just had a guy spam the chat for 60sec then disconnect when match started.

"Ready" button should only be active if all three lances on both teams are pre-made teams.

No one dropping in pugs - the currently predominant play style - is organizing lances or moving people around.

This is a poorly implemented change which is causing (at best) the bulk of the player base to have to take an unnecessary action while (at worst) giving a particular subset of the player base another way to 'troll' everyone they play with.

I was ready when I clicked launch 20 seconds prior. It's not needed outside 12 man premade.

Do you have a Screen Capture or Recording of it? If not, then reporting the user can't happen and talking about it is useless. Always get evidence.

Just throwing it out there that is being abused. I didn't have any problems till to day and I'm sure he was just disconnecting for the C-bills.

I know they talked about Fixing this but what have they've done to fix it.

Ever stop to think that maybe its the first step to them setting up the Weight limits? I think its there for more than just match making. I could be wrong but it would make sense. Plus the queue times for MWO are way shorter than other games I play. Waaaay shorter.

Could you elaborate on that?

And voting on which map.to play. Maybe they just need to add a flashing 'Press F1 to Ready' in the middle of the screen.

It's really a seperate issue from the Ready button, however, as that person would probably have just kept on spamming the chat and disconnected whether or not the game had started or it was in the standby period. That's a problem with the communication system (need a mute/ignore button)/team building system (ability to eject a player and get a replacement before the match starts).

People trying to say that the ready button is a step towards a full lobby system, or map- voting etc: There is no reason to take a 'step' in the form of a ready button on the way to any of those other elements. Just wait until these are ready, then implement them in full.

People talking about the need to plan strategy etc. I agree that this is a good idea. However in PUG games (which is what I typically play), it has so far *never* been the case in roughly 20 matches that anyone takes and effectively uses the commander or lance role. In fact, most of the time, nobody even picks either role. The couple of times I've seen when they have, they haven't done anything in the role once the game commences, nor discussed strategy before hand. Sometimes there is no strategy in PUG matches, at other times, the strategy is implicit rather than explicit: you decide what to do based on what you see teammates doing, without actually taking much time to discuss it.

This is the standard of PUG matches, and it should be considered when talking about the need or lack of need to add 60+ seconds to the start of every match.

On the topic of pug games, every match has someone whining about people not hitting ready. I saw one guy on the other team call his team mate a ($#$%@#$%#) because he was the last to hit ready. it was offensive, and the player hit ready, we started, then he discon presumably due to the comment. People really are impatient, and even though the actual time to start is shorter then before many times, players see the green ready by peoples names and berate whoever is a little slower on the trigger.

its funny, because IMO, even if the ready button cut wait times by 3/4 of what it was before, players would still jump up and down all over the not ready guy because there is this perception someone is making them wait and ruining the fun.

And all of this, so i can watch my PUG run to the middle of the map, and then ******** each other trying to hide from the LRM5 and one ML from 550M out trying to shoot the group. And then they start playing peek-a-boo, and slowly get killed as they trip over themselves trying to hide from the battle. or we have a cap race between two lights that are in a huge hurry to earn 25k c-bills for their win while I earn 65K for a no kill loss.

So you know, for all the rants and whining, who cares? Everyone sure is in a hurry to start the match to not fight/cap and run away from the enemy. I say, if it benefits the premade teams that use the time to organize, leave it. Honestly, i think if you could push launch and it instantly dropped you right in front of the enemy team's atlas there would be people that complained it takes to long.

It does't matter what, or why any change is made there will be those that hate it, those that like it and those that don't care. And as with most things its true benefit or disadvantage will depend on how its used on any given drop. Some drops it gets used and is useful others not so much, so the wait is irritating.
My opinion is to get used to it. I have a suspicion that's a main reason for its introduction. Beside learning some patience could't hurt my gameplay :D

When I ready to play, I press a ready button – green, "LAUNCH". Next, I press Alt+Tab and reading news, etc. When I hear “All systems nominal”, I switch to the game, and go forward. It is very useful for me. I do not want sit around, looking for MWO client and waiting until it searching, connecting, etc., and only then I can again press “Ready button” for the second time.
Let’s check, if I played 1290 rounds with waiting for the MWO client works, at about 30sec/round, then I lost 1290*30/3600=10 hours! My time is very valuable for me, sorry.
BDW, I do not think what all players must wait one or couple of them. In addition, victory does not only depend on number of players in a team.
I need an “Always ready” checkbox in the game options menu. :(

You might be on a 4 peopl group and all of a sudden someone decided to move you around. That is not helpful at all since you can no longer quickly identify your team mates by color on the mini map
