This right here. Judging by the art though the "hunch" will be much smaller than a hunchbacks. That won't stop me from rolling this though: Dakka.

Figure if i can do 1k damage with a 4x AC2 Jagermech that is much slower and cant jump I'd be able to get similar firesupport preformance from a 55t shadowhawk.

Yeeees. The Teeny-Tiny locust is most pleasing to me. Look forward to playing one.

WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!

The sad thing is that most of the people that see this won't get the reference, and have never read that series of short stories.
:-)

Besides, I am the court jester of Locust Pilots.

Still waiting to hear when PGI is going to fix the netcode enough to allow them to travel at the PROPER speeds.

My founder's hunchie with JJ :P

Since they published the hard points I have been giving many dakka's to the dakka gods in preparation for the dakkacolypse.

that thing should be a right beast to hit. Good. If it's dang near impossible to tag it, there might be a legit reason to play it!

Just think they said on twitter it's max engine was going to 190...

Bryan Ekman
@parduke According to David the heat sink min is not relaxed, however the max engine rating is up 190. Also We have adjusted engine weight.

So it's gonna be tiny, and faster then other machines by surpassing the 150 barrier!

*exhales in relief*

The Locust may be the mech I'm most looking forward to in the Phoenix Package, but I was worried about its sizing. Its got paper thin armour, so it better be as hard to hit as a Spider (not counting the hitbox problems, of course)

looks cool, would be nice to have a front picture of it to see if its really ugly. but looking good so far. one thing to take into account for a good sence of scale is if you look at that spider its a little bit down a ramp so if they were actually side by side the locust would be actually smaller than you think. looking forward to attemping to leg one though in my battlemaster :P

Unless it's got wings, it's DOA with those legs.

Woo! This was my second biggest concern about the Locust's viability, since it has little weight in comparison to other light mechs after you fill it with heatsinks. After all, spending four tons on external heatsinks, an entire fifth of the mechs total weight, seemed like a real limiting factor. Especially since you'd probably need to run AMS so you don't get torn apart in a single LRM volley.

It looks a bit smaller than the Spider. Well, that's nice.

Percentage-wise, the difference between Locust and Spider is like the difference between Jagermech and Atlas. The difference between Locust and Jenner (175% Locust's weight) is close to one between Kintaro (or "a hypothetical actually medium-sized 55-tonner") and the Atlas.

Yes, percentage wise the top and bottom of the light category, are like the difference between the top medium and top assault mech. And they appear to be simililarily sized at best.

In short, it doesn't appear nearly small enough, and it's baffling why it's even being added to the game.

I don't think this thing will ever get touched by LRMs unless it stands still. :P

Careful with that eject lever.

Not to contribute to it's negative body image, but I think the Locust needs thinner legs.

We knew this because of the amount of mechs in the light class at the moment. Way to be predictable Russ. LOL. JK Great News for the recon guys.

If it breaks the 151 barrier, that combined with the size; it'll be worth having.

I wish it had JJs; if they gonna break 150 limit, will the other lights also be affected?
