Surely PGI would benefit from halfing the prices and selling more than twice as much? You would expect more people to be happy to make more micro* transactions.
* although not sure if that classifies as "micro", even $15 is quite expensive for some pixels.

I dunno. Been seeing a *lot* of Boars Heads running around these past few days.

Even though I think the price is pretty steep for a single Mech, and I'd rather wait a few more days for my Phoenix Mechs to arrive, that's not *really* a way to look at it.
Otherwise, why would anyone ever buy music/mp3-files? That's just some bits strung together to create sounds. Same goes with an OS.. it's "just" a piece of software. Or what about a movie you watch in a theatre? That's just images flickering across a screen in front of you. And you can only watch it *once*.
Regardless of the product - which in this case happens to be some bits/bytes/pixels, someone had to sit down and create that thing. So there's actual work involved here which should justify paying for it. Especially if you consider that the game itself - all, what? 2, 3, 4 GB of it - is free to download and play.
So getting back to my initial observation:
"Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it".
From what I've seen, that seems to work out ok - even for the 7500 MC Atlas.

And if it is to much, don't buy, yet. Wait for either mc or hero mech sale

"Don't buy it then" is excellent advice.

That's the main reason. I think it is heavily overpriced anyway. I think selling a part of the game for the full AAA game price tag is not right. How much easier is it to build a mech (on an existing chassis) than creating a game from scratch. From the other hand I did spend 5000mc just on colors...

Well, it's one way to buy a 400XL with MC instead of c-bills

To buy the Atlas Boar Head you need 7500 MC.
That means, provided you have no MC right now, you have to buy the 12.000 MC pack to afford the 7500 MC Atlas.
The 12.000 MC pack comes at 49.95$, which means the 7500 MC Atlas will cost you 31.22$ in terms of MC vs Real money.
To make 31.22$ all you gotta do is put in an hour or two of overtime at work, or wash a car or two, or flip some burgers at McD.
My point is, while 7500 MC sounds expensive, 31.22$ really isn't a lot.
However, at the end of the day it's all about priorities. Do you want that Atlas? Then put in some work, or you can simply just not buy a pack of cigarettes for a few days.

My point exactly.. so it was while back and some of us have kinda ran out of MC since that.
and next sale will be on probably about same day this year, so not that easy to get that MC from sale.

At least we are not forced to buy premium ammo to compete. Yet. Gold AC rounds, ugh...no. Just no.
