It was a fix they desperately needed though, because as you said before, you almost never were headshot. I've stood there on training grounds and with squadmates in my vent trying to get headshots on that damn red eye before the patch, and even the entire cockpit was being covered by a large laser it wasn't taking damage.
Seems they just went a little overboard.

You beat me to it.
They broke the UAC5s with the sale on Ilyas and Firebrands.. now they really broke Founders Atlases for the release of Boar's Head..some pretty slimy stuff..bad thing is.. it would work on people who just play and spend money without ever looking at the forums..

same thing for me, first match after patch in my founders atlas headshot. Very odd. other atlas all seem fine.

All the others have it.
I would venture a guess that they didnt get it to actually work on the founders atlas, removed it and compiled the patch without checking the founder mech since it was just turned back to normal.

I didn't think they touched the Founders Atlas but something they did messed with it.

Have to agree that there possibly was a fix to cockpit hit boxes around the mechs that made headshots easier. Until now I was being headshot only in CPLTs.

What weapons are in the damage reports when you get headshot?
