I love the guy above that said battlemaster, now thats a classic. For my favorite mechs, I think I need to go classic here. Highlander, marauder, Pillager, Black Knight. These all have a few common themes. First of all, most weight is not best mech and I am very happy to see that theory proven on these forums. Best tech is not best mech, again upheld here.

I think I have to go with Marauder. First of all, Grey Death forever. Second, the mech was notoriously hard to pilot, with horrible heat consequences for misuse, no arms for picking itself back up, etc. Yet, a well used C&C mech, capable of knocking out any assault mech in a matter of seconds if piloted correctly. Yep, have to go with this one, think it got an unfair shake in BT lore.

Awesome. Cause it's... awesome. Everywhere but in MW4 and MWO. The best tech level 1 fire support mech in TT in my opinion.

Posted Image

Honorable mention: Longbow. I used it with pair of Arrow IV launchers in MW4:Mercenaries, and that was fun.

Cause of edit: found much better pic of the Awesome.

This has been my favorite since I started playing Battletech in Tabletop. I would level up in MWLL and start giving money away once I got into my Whammy's! The variant with the ERPPc's and Light Gauss and the one with Dual RAC5's were my favorites, but I always had a special place for the Cheap hammer with dual AC10's and an MRM20.

My favorite Mech in battletech would be one of the following:

Bowman its not much to look at but the combination of Arrow IV and an lrm20 with back up er medium lasers it can deal a lot of punishment in table top.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bowman

Cygnus, equip it with 2 HAG 40's and you have something very very sick.

And lastly Solitaire, super fast, and hard hitting one of these mechs alone can easily take down any mech, as long as it doesnt get hit.... but being a 25 ton mech equiped with 2 heavy medium lasers, 1 heavy large laser, and a heavy small laser, means it can do a lot of damage

The one Battlemech that comes to my mind repeatedly is the ROTS Peacemaker. It appeared very late in Battletech history at the inception of Fortress Republic, the final chapters of published Dark Age history (aka Age of Destruction). What it is, is virtually an Assault Jagermech, similar proportions and design to the MWO Jagermech. Just bigger and bristling with more guns. One of the last ditch secret weapons meant to counter the Clans and the Houses trying to grab pieces of the collapsing Republic.

I second this! The best looking mech I've seen, jump capable, and I believe a variant carries ECM.

Given that that game called all the mechs by 2 names as if they were two different mechs... and the other name they gave the Cougar was Adder - can't say I blame him for getting it wrong XD

....can blame Micro$oft for doin the crappy game that way though
