The safe bet would be under, since the last few days it has been 500 keys each time, and it covers the likely event that zero keys are distributed.

The smart better says over, since last Friday was 1500 and it covers the weekend.

Then again, since that last 1500 release was not preceded by releases of 500 on consecutive days, 1000 could be the winner of chicken dinner...

We *should* know soon.

At 11:59pm PST if no announcement comes, the zero bet is considered the winner

dude i am logged in 13 hours a day (at least as long as my vacation lasts) if they pull that number and I am not logged in at that time I will gauge out someone's eyes with a rusty spoon.

Edit: guess I need to be logged in 24/7 now ( I can feel my power bill skyrocketing with my comp being on so long)

I see them, over the last 7+ days, aiming for 500 new beta invites per day. However, this means that on Fridays they go for 1500 so that they don't have to release more on the weekend itself.

I think this is a sound strategy, as it means a slow ramp-up to Founders launch day, by which time they would have about 20,000-25,000 beta participants (or at least invites sent). They will probably about double that number on Founders day when we all get beta eligibility, and then they can see how that launch goes before initiating the open beta (when it will likely skyrocket to over 100,000 overnight).

I wouldn't expect to many more invites to go out. Founders packs go on sale in a couple days and having a beta key makes them less attractive to buy.

There was worry about this when a similar thread pop'd up yesterday, in advance of the official beta invite announcement. Honestly, short of us all being absolute jerks to the devs (which some elsewhere on the forums are bordering on) I don't think anything we do here will affect how many invites they send out. They have it all planned, and will follow that whether or not they tell us, or we whine and moan, or we start threads trying to anticipate their moves
