It's all in the amount of time you put into it, just as everything else in life. Just build, try new ideas even if you know it wont work, or you wont like it. Also Google is your friend, just look up things like "Lego Mechs" for ideas, and or help. That's what I do, and I'm not that great at this.

totally disagree dude! LDD is as unique a skill IMO as 3d renders are from 2d line art, etc. I can build some pretty cool stuff with legos if they are in front of me. And I can draw. What I can't do, is conceptualize taking the one form to the other with out having the hands on pieces to touch and change and re-arrange. You guys who do the LDD designs are just as legit as any of the other media we get here, and I love seeing the stuff, even if I can't justify the cost of ordering some of the builds.

Butting in with a brilliant lack of tact!

It doesn't matter how much 'skill' (quote marks are to mark the concept) one has if one never uses it.
I used to have a fair amount of artistic skill (or so many told me) but a lack of actually using it means it has all but disappeared
On the other hand, one with little 'skill' who puts time into something -can- create masterpieces - it would simply take longer than one who had 'skill'

Does that make sense?

Indeed it does, and thank you.

You sir - appear to have either a natural talent - a developed talent - or are lucky enough to have an interest in the same place you have skill in.

I look forward to seeing more of your art :)

speaking as an Aspie, you make perfect sense. Einstein was smart, genius even, but not as "smart" as people think. His IQ was "only" 168, which is just barely in the "genius" category. The point was, it was his focus, his dedication that allowed him to be "smarter" than he actually was. (Chances are good he was mildly autistic, actually) focus and passion will make you a lot more successful than talent without dedication.

Wow..... T-Thank you.
Any how the problem I'm going to run into is the legs witch I SUCK massively at. I've been think to have someone help me in some way with it.
I'll work on the AMS although I might go with the multi-projectile diffusion system or as I call it a MPDS.
Note this isn't entirely based in the BT universe so there might be stuff I come up with or use that isn't a thing in the slightest.
But a MPDS is a shot range 60-80mm cannon shooting "bulbous" like rounds in witch the computer tells when the round to detonate like a mini clusterbomb sending submunition in almost a 360 degrees of direction to engage all threats to the unit itself.

Agreed, some of this lego stuff is an artform. One of our very own devs made this:

To be honest, I wouldn't mind the legs going all Kintaro if it meant the torso could be slim and svelte like the lego awesomeness above. Also, look at the hardpoint height - much better than the Awesome now, though not Cataphract bad.

Imagine being able to fire on an enemy without having to expose every inch of your huge, jutting Awesome beer belly!

I know that point, believe me and I hate it. Save your project, close LDD and don't think about it for the next 24 hours. Then open your LDD again and the ideas flow.

Good Luck! ;)

The funny thing is I never got around to the legs I just kinda stopped with the build now I'll get round to the legs
As well another bump; finished the back and now I'll start on the legs & inside.

Kinda curious if you can integrate a phalanx style AMS into the upper torso some how.... (though the scale may not work.... hmmm)

Bump!
