- Assault is basically deathmatch (which is in and of itself a boring gamemode in any game) made simply downright irritating by bases that add little to the map strategy-wise other than to occasionally end a match early after you've done nothing but simply walk around.
- Conquest should be an epic gamemode and I've seen it implemented quite well in other games. As with MWO they should be about holding the most points, but that's only one layer. It's also about holding the right points and thereby gaining additional assets (in MWO limited repairs and ammo/module replenishment for instance) while denying them from the enemy. Those points should more or less have a purpose to exist (a military base, a mining facility, etc) they shouldn't be open spots of empty space with no obvious strategic value. MWO Conquest was a lazy effort that produced a boring result.
The devs may have decided to make Conquest as it is because they chose to go with a no respawn format, but that may be the cause of at least some of what's wrong with MWO Conquest. While no respawn may seem more realistic, it also suffers from compatibility challenges with a well designed Conquest game mode which generally needs "reinforcements" to play correctly.

Everything PGI does makes me lose interest in the game. If they had just done NOTHING AT ALL since closed beta, wed have a better game. We would still have balanced weapons, collisions, no ecm, no ghost heat, and brawling.

Failed matchmaker puttng premade companies against straight up PUG teams.
Matchmaker is the real gamebreaker for me, and why I have played this game less and less over the past weeks.
Right now I am down to 2 drops per week and I might just put the whole title back on the shelf.

for me it´s just the lack of MANY gamemodes (and really not talking about "TDM", which is as boring as the other 2 we have now), true Role Warfare, true Information Warfare, and mostly CW...

Fixed the title to reflect balance/game issues.

Mechs are unreasonably priced for long term enjoyment. Grinding cash for first few mechs while learning the game can be fun and challenging, but the necessity to buy every new mech three times becomes tiring and discouraging from further use.
People still have no way of knowing which mech they are going to enjoy before committing large amount of time and money to it. Only champion mechs can be tested before hand (stock builds are worthless in every sense of the word)
The game is still impossible to balance thanks to OP pilot tree skills.
Clan invasion pack - I've been looking forward to clans. I was afraid that when they announce the Clan bundle, I would be unable to resist the temptation. But thanks to their horrible presentation, highly impractical pricing and open disdain for customers, who have to wait 6 months+ to get the mech that is already in game, I now have absolutely no intention to buy the bundle or anything else. They got enough money from me, appropriate for the amount of fun I had.
Golden mechs are irrelevant. There are idiots willing to spend $500 to prove something to themselves, PGI are free to make money on them, it has absolutely no impact on the rest of the game.

-Hit registration is still not working which makes SRM even worse since they have to register multiple hits at once
-Lack of a way to save loadouts
-CB are too low to keep things interesting and combined with the terribly terrible 3mech leveling system it makes things a lot worse
- In addition to the CB isseu, the moneythirst of PGI/IPG is simply extreme

You should have realized that when they removed the Centurion CN9-AH so they could replace it with the YLW. That's when I asked for my refund.
Too much truth there.

SRMs
Seeing Clan Balance thread and decisions made in there, mostly in regards to customization of Omni vs Battlemechs
No movement towards CW

Well as much as i dislike the changes MWO has seen the last year PGI has tried too hard to make a game which isn't p2w to make it p2w in the future. I don't beleave MWO will become p2w, one step before the p2w line yes but p2w no.

Saddly, I don't think they have the resources to pull it off at this stage. We will see.

I feel ya', cuz. There have been some valid points made in this thread, but I also see a metric {Shazbot}-ton of learn-to-play issues here as well.

This has obviously been nothing other than a cash grab from the beginning...
Yeah, cash grab for a free game.

We told them it would be bad before they put it in.
It was even worse than we predicted, and we told PGI that it was.
We offered hundreds of solutions (dozens of which were genuinely good ones and would instantly improve the game).
PGI told us that it was fine, l2p.
We told them it was still terrible and causing insane balance issues.
PGI told us it was just the unhittability of the Raven.
We told them that the Raven's hittability was a problem, but ECM was still a genuine culprit and needed mechanics changes.
PGI denied it was a problem.
We kept telling them it was. We explained why it was in excruciating detail. And kept presented almost every fix imaginable.
PGI started creeping in pseudo-fixes such as PPC disruption, and eventually BAP changes, all while still telling us that ECM was fine, despite the fact that even introducing such 'fixes' admits that it wasn't.
We're still telling them it needs changed.
We're still told its fine.
I could go on with other examples, but this case highlights one of the serious causes of burnout. A fairly good chunk of the player base knows how to better balance this game than PGI does, yet hey are almost entirely ignored, with PGI almost purposely selecting middle to low quality solutions to well debated and explored topics.
To compound the problem of PGI ignoring better solutions, they also don't even admit that many of the biggest problems with the game are even problems at all.
I've only played about 20 matches in the past 3 months. And I keep getting very little incentive to play since every patch ignores the major issues. Nor have I put any money towards this game since ECM.
And as I've noted before, I'll throw money at this game the day that ECM has its cloaking field removed.
Until then, I'll keep checking back every once in a while to see if anything has been done to bring back the great gameplay we had in late closed beta, or if the only new additions are more mechs and a new map or two.
And as usual, until those changes hit, I'll spend more time reminding PGI how to make the game better than I will actually playing it or spending money on it.
