Hardly. I'm all about PC gaming pushing the limitations, but it's a bit unrealistic to think that DX11 would be the norm. No game company would be profitable if that was the case.

Maybe we are tackling the question differently, but there's not a single game that only supports Directx11, so in your sense you bought a GTX 680 for nothing. Cryengine 3 does support Directx11 as shown in Crysis 2, but no company is going to make it part of the minimum settings.
Plus this is F2P. It blows all other F2P out of the water on pc requirements. You're getting greedy.

I currently have no issues running games (including crysis 2), but is there anything I should maybe change or that might be recommended?
AMD FX™ 8120 Eight Core 3.10ghz ... I can overclock as I have the cooling power
8gb ram
Windows 7 64 bit
Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 Fermi 1gb
Direct X 11
Thanks

Not likely. Your graphics card would definitely be a limitation. Before I upgraded to the GTX 670 my amd 6950 would struggle with Crysis 2 running DirectX11. This game looks to be slightly more intensive than that.
What graphics card would you recommend? I will totally upgrade if I had to.

Your setup meets the recommended specs (6850 is about 10-15% faster than the 5830). It won't hit max but it should run the game well. To hit max, it be hard to say until the game comes out.

There are games that support DX11 only, not many granted. Shattered Horizons is about the only example I can give unless anyone knows better. I do agree that it should not be anything near the minimum standard for mainstream games but it should be more commonly available, especially in new developments like this. Then again it depends. Do we really want to stop and stare at tesselated rocks when the focus of attention will be that pesky Hunchback at 9 o'clock?
That said, nobody has wasted thier money investing in a GTX680. that card is awesome and will serve its owner well in many games. At least you'll be playing at max everything and the game will look sooooo pretty.

Actually Shattered Horizons supports DX10.

Minimum specs points to the 5600/5700 series, so you might need to upgrade.
