Targeting Reticles did not exist in TT canon, and should not be in MWO. Nor did a computer that talks to you. I never had a computer that talked to me in the table top game. They shouldnt be here either. It goes agaisnt all that BT stands for!!!

Shooo go away this is not TT they are just using the rules as a guide line.. how do you expect to hit anthing if you cant target it.. and if you read any of the books you know all that was in there.. So take your time and go read a book and you will see its all in there.. Silly Nub

Yes, the devs are going for realism,but that doesn't mean they have to follow canon EXACTLY. Without reticles, the game would be no fun. And there ARE reticles in canon.

Actually, wrong - they were both mentioned several times in the books.

The mechs repeatedly ask the mechwarrior for the code phrase to unlock the controls, for example.

See En Garde and associated series for more details. I believe they're also referenced in the Mechwarrior RPG rulebooks from which this game is derived.

Yeah... rules lawyers are almost as bad as people who think that MW is somehow "versus" battletech and that MW should ignore BT for completely irrational reasons that they can't explain, with said ignorance usually covered by "but MW IS REALTIME!!11!!1 or over usage of "FUN, IT WON'T BE FUN!1!!"
