I find myself constantly having to google different aspects of the game only to find the information I am looking for is contained on the forums in a random post. Why is there no information tab up on the top to contain links to pages that contains this basic info? We have a few questions answered in the Faq.... but there is still a lot of info that can be presented to the community in a much better fashion than simply having to forum dive. Things like the talent trees, mechs and weapons (with descriptions) that are available on launch, detailed information about the founders pack, information about the different game modes offered on launch, bonus stats of the different clans, ect ect are a mystery for most users just starting to look into the game. These are all basic aspects of the game that are talked about throughout the forums and shouldn't even be in a faq..... they should be on the front page, but none of this is clearly talked about in any easily accessible fashion. Heck... the game tab at the top only has one tab... ONE!!!!.. I just want to be able to send my friends to the site after hypeing them up about it ... and see them have an easy time answering their own basic questions. Thanks for your time.

Please like and comment on this if you feel the same way :(

Why should new players have to go diving to find basic info? You basically saying if a new user doesn't want to dig... then they shouldn't play.

I should not have to do that, I should not have to go to the Forums to find any info about the game. I should be able to mwomercs.com and click on one of the drop down menus and be able to find everything I need. I think the website needs a serious rework.

I concur. I myself have been constantly promoting this game to friends and family to help bring about an even bigger pilot base for the glorious reboot of this franchise. Having a main page link for all the basic info (battle types, houses that are available to join, generalizations of the Mech weight categories, and an embed of a gameplay overview) would be a great way to get people quickly informed when I ask them, 'Why haven't you signed up yet?!?!'.

Most of the time people have to ask where to go to get all the info before they have an idea of what's in store for them.

I think this would be a great addition = D

The reason they're not posting official pages of information is because nothing is official yet. It's still in beta and therefore much of the information you may be looking for would be subject to change. Also users digging for information, asking questions and reading is making the community stronger.

I am fine with it being unofficial... Make a new tab and call it beta stats or ANYTHING!! I am all for actually contributing to the forums.. But I think being able to find answers to your questions and being a part of the community are two different things...

I don't think the OP is asking for an 'Official' page. I think it's more of a 'General Info' on the front page. Just a link to a post that can even have link to the correct forum posts to keep the Mods and Devs from having to spend a lot of time making another 'How to' thread in the forums, but also get newbies a sense of what the game is about.

Also, I think anyone who develops an interest in the game will contribute to the strength of the community, not merely becoming a forum diver.

Once the game gets a little closer to an actual release I would imagine we will see an updated website with a "Friendlier New User" experience.

In the mean time there are two great threads named the New players Start here (Pretty Please) and A useful introduction to Mechwarrior online that I highly suggest you look into. They both have a wealth of information for new users.

I do agree with you that a website redesign is called for once the game gets closer to launch and the advertising starts up.

Cheers.

maybe Piranha should just sell Pills that drenches all necessary infos into the users brain, so they don´t even need to look up things... but i guess someone would ask "seriously, i have to take the pill ALL BY MY SELF?? How uncomfortable is that?!"

srsly, it took me about two seconds to get familiar with the forums, and the starting topics helmer mentioned right above me are very useful to have a good start...

Hmm, I think a new tab up at the top explaining what mechwarrior is, what tonnages are what weight class (light, medium etc.) would be quiet usefull for new players.

Common devs at least appease us and tell us updates to the website are coming ;)
