Phoenix Program Injected October 15th - What to expect.

If you pre-ordered a Phoenix package (excluding Saber package) before October 15th you can expect everything to be delivered into your account during downtime on the 15th. Players who have purchased Overlord or Guardian packages will be able to select and redeem between 2 and 4 cockpit hanging items from the 6 available factions. You will be able to select any combination of hanging items.

A note on Loyalty Points

While the functionality for rewarding LP is currently in the game, players are not able to use or control which faction they will earn LP for. We are actively building the features associated with earning and using LP. Loyalty Points will make their debut as part of Phase 1 of our CW delivery. See below for more information.

Content Going Live This Month

  • Mech(s): Locust, Shadow Hawk*, Thunderbolt*, Battlemaster*, Hero Atlas, and Champion Spider
  • Map(s): Crimson Strait
  • Pattern(s): Flame

* Available only if you have ordered a Phoenix Package.

October 15th Patch Preview

Gameplay

  • Update the EoR Screen so it will make more sense to the user.
  • Premium and 'Mech Boosters will affect how much XP you will get for First Victory of the Day.
  • Performance
  • A lot of 'Mechs have had a new LOD pass done on them, this will hopefully increase certain users performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Altas Founder head has it's collision back.
  • Streak SRMs no longer auto-aim on the Blackjack's center torso.
  • Fixed where users could see out of the world when using 3rd person near a vertical piece of terrain.
  • Moving a the reticle away from a targeted 'Mech will decay the lock-on once again.
  • A slew of map stuck bugs and visual issues.

October Public Test

We should be seeing the following features on PT:

  • UI 2.0 MechLab
  • DX 11 + Engine Update
  • UI 2.0 Pilot Lab (possible)

Community Warfare Building Blocks

The following features are part of the Community Warfare master feature. Each of these has been identified as an isolated feature that can be developed and released independently or as a group with other blocks. Each block is not created equal, some are incredibly large, some are very small. I’m trying to find an easy way to visualize these blocks via the website, for now text will have to do.

Ready For Internal Test

  • Skirmish Mode (Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch

In Development

  • UI 2.0 MechLab
  • UI 2.0 Pilot Lab
  • UI 2.0 Misc.
  • Attack/Defend Mode
  • Loyalty Points
  • Achievements
  • Mercenary Unit Life

Ready For Development

  • Matchmaking
  • Private Matches
  • Player Level

In Design 3

  • Mercenary Life

In Design 2

  • Ready Screen
  • Loyalist Life
  • Inner Sphere
  • CW Economics
  • Mercenary Unit Assets
  • Mercenary Unit Logistics
  • Contracts
  • Planetary Warfare
  • Front Warfare

In Design 1

  • Loyalist Unit Life

A note on development phases.

  • In design 1 – A twinkle in our eyes, we are still brain storming.
  • In design 2 – Feature brief has been presented to stake holders for vetting.
  • In design 3 – Design has been approved and is being broken down into user stories.
  • Ready for development – Design complete, waiting for resources to be assigned.
  • In development – Resources assigned and actively working on feature.
  • Ready for internal test – Feature is complete and ready to be tested by QA.
  • Ready for public test – Feature has past basic internal testing parameters and is ready for public testing.

I approve. Not a ton of details, but there don't need to be. We know what's being worked on, what's in design, and what's coming soon. Good to hear public tests are incoming. Explanation for Loyalty points is very reasonable, though I'm sure some will still complain.

Again, keep up the awesome communication.

Two weeks of good communication?

This gets you...

THE ROADBEER STAMP OF APPROVAL

Keep it up :D

What is the general (saying general to keep the forum timekeepers frustrated) length of time from Design 1 to Design 3?

oh, lol

So the flame pattern is being released for all, it's just the Phoenix users are getting it for free on those select mechs.

Gotcha.

Will Skirmish mode arrive before attack/defend?

Will skirmish consist of BOTH team deathmatch and some sort of single player deathmatch?

Good stuff...

Wish you would add logging to the End of Match (EoR???) so we statistics junkies could do our thing.

It isn't hard! Just write what you have already sent to the client > file! Heck you don't even need to add formatting we'll happily parse the file ourselves :D

Great Update.

One point though: It would be great if we could get writeups on content that's listed as "Ready for Development" similar to the CW phase 1 writeup but perhaps on a smaller scale. I can't see that being much of a problem since design details should be solid by then.

the pp page doesn't say the flame pattern is exclusive to pp buyers, just that pp buyers get one for their regular-variant pp mechs.

I wasn't sweating it either way, I prefer it this way in case the flame pattern was pretty sweet. I might get one for my awesome.

Easy way to visualize them on the site: Number of stars. Five stars (*****) is HUUUUUUUGE development. One star (*) is tiny, comparitively.

Thanks for the update, Bryan!

October seems like it's going pretty well for you guys. I can't wait for the public tests of DX11 and UI 2.0. Hopefully you won't hit many snags in the development and testing of some of the big features the community has been eager to try out!

What the ****, wasn't it supposed that UI 2.0 went in on late october?? Your last guess about delivery was on mid-late october for UI 2.0, and late november for CW phase 1....this just means, we will be getting UI 2.0 on mid november, and CW phase 1 by january almost (althought u have said thousands of times u would deliver within 2 weeks after UI 2.0....)...

I'm just astonished right now, seriously....

First of all, i thought u need UI 2.0 to deliver the ProPho mechs, due to the mechbay problem...->

That means, ur statement on "we can't deliver hero mech with a mech bay" is purely false, as u are delivering 12 mechs (for me) with 12 mech bays along...

I'm liking the new spirit of letting players know what is going on instead of letting people stew that "PGI do nuffin' ", please keep it up.

Great update, thanks for letting us know what's in development. Can't wait for Loyalist life, wondering why it's at the bottom of the Dev list?

This is a welcomed update, instead of PR/propaganda that infested the last couple updates.

Although, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch is making me scratch my head... as this could have been accomplished long ago.

HUZZAH! /raisesMeadTankard

Although i am a little worried about choosing the loyalty dealies. How do I know which ones to choose? Do I get 4 FRR so I can super level FRR or does the token just boost loyalty for whatever faction I'm in, regardless of the faction the dealie is for? For example if I'm enlisted in the FRR, but I have a Davion dangly, do I get normal loyalty for FRR and 1% for Davion or do I get normal for FRR + 1% FRR from just having any dangler?
