It's the other way around; the Jenner is better than the Spider at just about everything. The Spider was dead on arrival when it was first introduced, and was widely regarded as one of the worst mechs in the game. The only reason they're doing okay right now is because hit detection isn't always functional.

The Commando is obsolete (to the Jenner) for the most part, outside of being able to carry ECM (which can be done by a Raven 3L with more armor and firepower).

Actually, most people had high-hopes for the Orion prior to its release, as a sort of brawler or "mini Atlas," but it turned out that their CT hitbox made them not too great at brawling and most people run their Orions as LRM boats instead as a result.

I don't remember anybody saying the Highlander would be DoA, if anything people were expecting/predicting it would be the king of poptarting...which it turned out to be.

I don't remember hearing many predictions either way for the Victor, other than that it would definitely be a far better use of 80 tons than an Awesome.

I will have to completely disagree with the commando part. And I average 500 damage when I play him PUG

Personally, anything that can mount ballistics effectively aren't underrated at all. Look at all the ac20s and whatnot running around these days. You want an underrated mech that's difficult to pilot and use? Play an all-energy mech. Quickdraw, the all energy Hunchback, or the holy grail amongst difficulty in energy mechs -- the Awesome.

The Awesome is rare as hell to find on the battlefield - and you'll probably encounter just 1 out of 10 matches you play from time to time. You want to use an even more underrated loadout? Use my main mech, Red Storm as a reference point.

So far im the only person i seen using LBX. People underestimate the dual LBX fatlas.

Im scared that CTF can mount 3 of those.

Broke 1000 damage and 200K cbills for the first time in months with one of those the other night. 45 damage every 2.5 seconds is brutal under 250m.

Definitely a fun build but you almost have to sit out the first half of the game.

AWS-8Q with 45 Single Heat-sinks. Hilariously effective second line mech. I played with this build all the way to mastery. She can alpha for days, particularly if you are on a cold map or in the water.

BJ-1 "Boom-Jack" What's not to like about a jump-jetting AC20 that goes 89.1kph with speed-tweak?

That awesome awesome... makes me wanna buy one again (did that in closed beta).

but why a MPL in the head and not a ML with another HS? Or going for an XL300?

I initially went with 7mlas and 46 SHS, but Ghost Heat irritates me so I went with the 6Mlas+1Mplas. I skipped the 300 so I could fill every single crit location with a heatsink for lulz; It's not like the 300 in the awesome makes you fast or anything.

Damn it, I might try Duncan's 8Q build. River City and Crimson both have enough water to at least get some additional benefit at times. Just my luck I'd drop on an endless cycle of Terra Therma, Caustic, and Tourmaline though.

Well if you don't care about not being able to move faster than a walk you could have gone to a Cool AWS-8Q... @ Mastery it's 5 minutes of 6xML fun to overheat... Leaving off the head SHS will get you a whole 195 standard engine & 43 kph with 3 minutes of firing...

Oh & The Cicada can nearly match your Boom-Jack with a Boom-Cicada. Sadly the need for a clan XL (could take a clan 255 XL for 113.6 kph) to fit the AC20 in a torso with an XL makes it rely on a standard 190 engine to fit that gun (84.6 kph)... and the standard is so heavy you need to drop any backup guns...

TDK is underated but easily one of my most surviveable mechs. Its constantly ignored as a threat on the battle ground, is fast and accurate with whatever energy weapons you use with it. Hang around another ECM light and your golden.

Even on the hot maps she will be the coolest running thing on the field. You still have more heat capacity than someone with 24 DHS.
