I wrote this up on reddit figured I would share over here also:

More and more I have been using lights as a confusion tactic. Now I am here to say quit chasing the rabbit that lone light mech is not going to decimate your team(it may though). It will be a gnat among you. My goal is confusion among the ranks forcing you to hold position.

Now the problem here is some of the team normally does ignore the light while the others are turned around running in circles basically focused elsewhere overall. This tactic is very useful in conquest as the enemy teams lights will be off trying to get caps.

So yes this tactic is very useful and will be for some time I just felt like sharing a trick of the light trade with you all. Under normal circumstances the rabbit needs to be a Commando or a Spider, Ravens and Jenners have a much harder time achieving success since their hit boxes are much larger overall.

If you are doing a pub group talk to your team. On average you have 30 seconds if all hit ready, explain that you will be a diversion so you can set up a kill room for the rest of your team. Those few that ignore the rabbit will come out 1-2 at a time making for quick easy kills. This works on all maps so long as the pack mentality stays.

If you are new to lights you may find this a hard trick to do just keep practicing on dodging in and out avoiding fire knowing when to retreat away maybe cap something else in that time then turn around and help your team finish off the enemies. Looking at you Spider 5K getting them crits.
Also with the soon to be
* Moving a the reticle away from a targeted 'Mech will decay the lock-on once again.
Will make them streak pains a bit easier to handle overall.

Disclaimer: This is from my personal training in lights only your results may vary, based on team comp and skill level. Odds are low to work in a team 12v12 game.

Thank you for reading see you in game and remember don't chase the rabbit.
