eh, I'm not remotely referring to their visual geometry. I'm referring to their actual designs and roles and how the metahumpers will butcher them. A Battlemaster was designed with it's heavy weapon in it's arms, support weapons in torso. \what we will get is a mech carrying support weapons in the arms, and heavy energy in the torso, aka the exact opposite of how the mech was designed to be. Call me old, I'd like mechs to actually be used for the basic roles they were actually designed for.

Much as people complain about MW4, this is something that is got right. Sized hardpoints rock IMO.

I bet you that right torso is going to get shot out SO MUCH on account of pilots thinking they are in cover but forgetting the positioning of the cockpit...

It's a large laser, actually. And I knew where it was, just disappointed that they didn't leave it under the arm. They did the same thing to the Battlemaster. Such a shame.

it looked cool underslung but you would have been shooting dirt all the time

I think what I don't like is that it has a head rather than the cockpit area placed on its side-chest. That's the one thing that jumps out at me.

Common misconception.

The only bad mechs with low slung weapons are the mechs that ONLY have low slung weapons.

With the torso energy mounts this mechs would of been just fine.

The benefit to having a low slung weapons is obviously that it's perfect for nailing lights. It's why I love my cataphract as one of the best light killers around.

Personally I would of LOVED low slung weapons on both the Tbolt and BM because they would both offer higher mounted energy mounts for Hill-humping and the great low slung hardpoint to catch lights in the kneecaps.

I am disappoint.

Oh well. =)

There must be some mistake, this is obviously the ******* child of a Thor and Awesome. There is no way this could be anything other than an assault mech, please explain.

firstly a THor is a heavy mech.

Also, the Thor is actually the bastardchild of the Thunderbolt.

I'm aware the Thor/Summoner is a heavy mech, i was referencing the placement of the missile rack which is very reminiscent.

Yes, Thor/Summoner's missile rack placement is reminiscent of the Thud's. All of the original 4 heavy Omnis look like mergers of older mechs. The Vulture/Mad Dog looks like Archer uppers mated to Catapult or Marauder lowers. Loki/Hellbringer is the the top of a Warhammer with the legs from an Archer. Thor is much as Loki, but with Thud uppers. And Mad Cat/Timber Wolf looks like a near total fusion of Marauder and Catapult.
