Started with MW2 and have played every released Mechwarrior game since. My favorite out of them all was Ghost Bear Legacy even though it wasn't ported for online.

I was thrown into the MechWarrior universe when I was about 9 or 10, I feel like. It was a long time ago, and I never got to play it enough to really grow attached to it. In fact, I completely forgot about it until GenCon 2010 when my friend bought a BattleTech starter kit. He recognized the Mad Cat and the Hunchback, and I recognized the Jenner miniature. We ended up joining a BattleTech "league" shortly thereafter. I'm still looking to start playing MW again, though.

BattleTech P&P game, then Crescent Hawk's Inception on C64/Amiga, then MW and MC series along side MPBT: Solaris in the 90s and beyond.

Mechwarrior 2 was my 1st CD-ROM game and it's what got me to spend loads of money on a quad speed CD-ROM drive on my X486. Then went on to Ghost Bear Legacy , Mechwarrior Mercenaries and so forth and so forth.

I started playing Mech Warrior 2 online on mplayer and Kali. On Mplayer (or mpig) I was TC-Sentinel and on Kali I was GS`Sentinel. Lot of good memories playing that game. I still remember teaching my best student MercJohns how to DFA.

OHMYGOD!!! ... I feel *REALLY OLD* now ... I remember the box game when it was originally called Battle-Bots <sigh> 1st computer-based? that would be the venerable Mechwarrior. Loved seeing the victim's head go yellow, then orange, then red, then black <smile>. I've also gotten all the computer-based games after that ... and I *still* have an old ... er... ancient .. box (PC AT-100MHz w/ 16Mb RAM... that's right ... mega not giga) sitting on the shelf in the event I get really nostalgic and wanna play the older games (Mechwarrior, Wing Commander, Privateer, etc). Too bad someone can't/won't port these old classics to work on the newer machines.

MechCommander. Oh how I luved that game. MechWarrior series was alright, but MechCommander will always have a spot in my heart.

But even that can't compare to the joys of the miniature game. I have Battletech miniatures sitting on my desk right under my monitor right this very moment.

Zeus, Atlas, Marauder, Mauler. lol

My first encounter was when a friend and I chipped in to buy this new game that just came out called Battle Droids. It didn't take too long for it to be renamed to Battletech, but at that point I had moved on for a while for lack of a solid gaming group. The computers I had couldn't handle system requirements until Mechwarrior 2.

Battletech PnP was my first experiance, though limited cause my group didnt last long. After that is was Mech3 and Mech3 PM that got me really into it more.

First experince was dice and paper! '84-'85. Company on Company action. We drew lots of teams and then drew for the mech. I got a BattleMaster and my friend of mine on the other side got a Crusader. He chewed me up but I finally got him. I've loved the game ever since and have been looking for a a BattleTech MMO for years.

I started playing MW2 when I was...2 and a half. Yep. Of course, for a while I was playing No heat Unlimited Ammo, but that game secured my favorite 'Mech as the Marauder IIC.

And then I discovered the Awesome.

But, I've only played MW 2-4, I hope to try the original tabletop sometime.

started with the Mechwarrior 2 didn't play 3 and recently have been playing 4:Mercs via the MekTek release.

the idea of a Mechwarrior MMO actually kinda excites me since it allows for role playing much more like the tabletop than the simulation games.

I'm only 21 years old but memories of Battletech go waaaaaay back for me. The first time I was introduced to the series was with the original MechCommander given to my three brothers and I by my grandfather who loved tactical games. Especially ones with explosions. I remember calling a PPC a "frap ray" and thinking the Mad Cat in the intro was the sickest thing ever created (which it is...). Since then I've played MechCommander Gold Edition, beating both Port Arther and Cermak more times than I care to recount, MC2, MW3 (partially), MW4 (extensively), MW4 Mercs (way too much), and have experienced the pleasure of Mektek and their Mekpaks. I've read a few novels, spent too much time on Sarna.net and I hope to someday draw mechs for a living like David White or Matt Plog.

"This is Rooster!" *permanently delete pilot* "Ok, Sir!" .... what a loser.

I had seen advertisements for MechWarrior 2 back when, but as a video game it did not stand out as something of interest. Miniatures are another story though, so when I was introduced to MechWarrior: Dark Age by WizKids in 2003, I quickly took to it. And like anything that catches my interest, I learn everything I can about it. Of course I would then recall MW2 and make that connection. Played MW4 and was involved in an online league, but most of my BT/MW love is in the miniatures and rpgs.

The very first one I had was Crescent Hawk's Inception on the C64/128. I just couldn't stop playing that one. I was sad when it ended cause I just couldn't get enough of battletech. Then on to 1-4 MW and both MC.
