The XP you are seeing in the match summary screen are already doubled.
eg:
You will get 200 XP for a loss (normally you would get 100XP)
You will get 600 XP for a win ( normally you would get 300 XP)
Hope this helps!
Cheers

1. Grind 2XP on your mastered mechs.
2. Convert all your XP to GXP with real money.
3. Insta-Master your entire Overlord package for some quantity of MC.
4. Impress your friends with your Mastered Battlemaster!
I won't do it, but I'm sure there are those who will.
You would need 687k xp to master the whole pack.

It's doubled. It is just that not many paid attention to how much XP they were getting to begin with and a few trolls are capitalizing on that fact and misconstruing AnaArt's post to spread misinformation.

The base value of XP you get for wins, losses, kills, etc. are doubled, and the result of that is posted on the end-match screen. That is how double XP events are configured. You will not see a little note on the end-match screen that gives your earned XP and then says "x 2 = " to present your doubled XP. What you will see is a very normal-looking end match result screen that shows your earned XP in its doubled state. As stated by the Staff here, you will earn 200XP simply for losing a match, and that will be stated on your end match summary screen if you click that tab after the match (your detailed earnings are available for viewing if you click that tab on top of the end-match scoreboard after the match has concluded).
Premium time bonuses and Hero Mech bonuses are displayed with a little note that shows the +50% values, and that is added onto your basic earnings to give you a total for that match. Double XP weekends do the doubling of XP internally, without showing you the math behind it, so the result is doubled XP earnings displayed directly on the end match summary screen without any notification of the doubling calculations taking place... You'll simply find yourself earning more XP for each kill, each win, each loss, etc.

OK, now I just got 1600+ XP on a loss with 465 damage, 5 component destructions, some savior kills with 3 kills and 3 assists. This is weird.

There is no XP for damage. XP for kills and assists are determined by how many teammates also engaged the target (the more who engage, the less XP you get), so it can be pretty random. However, I have confirmed that component destruction is doubled (15 per component to 30) and so is the bonus XP for a resource victory in Conquest (normally 75 for a conquest victory and 50 for a capture assist normally, up to 150 for a conquest victory and 100 for a capture assist)

No wait, that's a bad thing. Seriously, this event is completely useless. I have 150k mech XP on my main ride and not enough C-Bills to buy it's variants and unlock the next effiency tier. What good does XP do me? None. Economy Fail PGI.

yes it is. Look at the numbers at end game.
No it's not. You get 300 for a Saviour kill or 50 for a spot assist. It even says the double amount when you get the XP during the match. I just had a match where I got over 6600 XP, by doubling the doubled XP with 1st win of the day.
