It makes a lot of sense if you believe PGI is just a cold, business only entity that wants to squeeze every little bit of profit they can. Or if they want to portray themselves in that light.
It doesn't make sense if PGI wants to portray themselves as a partially crowd funded entity that is customer focused and smartly offer promotions to help the players enjoy the purchases they made (phoenix mechs) and generate a sense of community.
I have been thinking about investing more into this game (only spent $65 so far for a couple of hero mechs, mech bays and premium time) by purchasing the phoenix package and some MC this weekend, encouraged by the latest round of communication from the developers about the status of UI and CW and other works in progress.
But with the promotion of the grind and mistimed incentives, I don't think I will purchase anything. I do like this game and enjoy the free content in spite of the grind, but nothing done recently inspires me to spend money.
...but the phoenix mechs are tempting...12 mechs for $80...new shinies...should I...hmmmm
buy that logic i guss they should put the locus on special for its release.

I second that. Don't know if it's happening due to premium time being also active...

Why? I'm suggesting that the promotions should complement purchases, not replace them. Why would you want to have a special on the locust when the phoenix pack sale is a good deal as-is?
Did you even read what I posted, or just skimmed it and drew some arbitrary conclusion?

The XP you are seeing in the match summary screen are already doubled.
eg:
You will get 200 XP for a loss (normally you would get 100XP)
You will get 600 XP for a win ( normally you would get 300 XP)
Hope this helps!
Cheers
^this
double xp is not stated explicitely in the end of round screen

Uhm...I normally see 600 to 800 xp per loss, and more for a win. Saw the normal numbers I was seeing prior to the double xp going live. I played a few matches to see if this was the case. Saw the same outputs both before and after the double xp went live

AnaArt's figures are refering to the base XP for a win or loss. Are you totaling all the XP for Spotting, Killing, Assisting, etc. in your figures? Premium Time?

Seems poorly explained, and poorly implemented .... working as intended?
...or should I go back to my island, and keep ponying over the MC?
If it is just base XP that is doubled, then the announcement should say, and it is literally the lamest implementation of a "double" event I have ever come across in an MMO.

THAT'S your "double" exp? What a con job.
Should have said, you get 100 more exp for a loss and 300 more for a win. Scamming is so common now, that it's called good PR.

The Win/Loss XP were used as examples. But do you actually think that x2 XP was limited to just Win/Loss XP?

1. Grind 2XP on your mastered mechs.
2. Convert all your XP to GXP with real money.
3. Insta-Master your entire Overlord package for some quantity of MC.
4. Impress your friends with your Mastered Battlemaster!
I won't do it, but I'm sure there are those who will.
It works out better to use Premium Time + Book the Entire Weekend to Yourself to master mechs (XP + C-Bills).
I reserve GXP for Pilot Tree skills.

<plays first match>
<gets over 4K in EXP with 1st win of the day bonus>
Seems to be double for me as I usually manage 1K for a win in that mech.
