I don't think Heavies are too strong.

Though I once did kill an ATlas with an AC/40 Jagermech. But I think that just means that Assaults need a buff.

Nothing needs to be "buffed" or "nerfed" in terms of weight class. Hit detection still needs work and the hit boxes on some mechs (Orion my god?!) need to be corrected.

Heavy's have more firepower then Assaults, this is mainly due to their number of ballistic hard-points - and their location.

Note that this only counts for some heavy's.

You want to really nerf heavies and assaults? I've got two words for you:

WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

Weapons group 1, 2, 3, 4& 5 need to be nerfed

I'm not going to say that medium, heavy or assault mechs need to be nerfed.

I will say that I find it 10 times harder to do well with light mechs. If I don't keep my light mech skills sharp, I suck after a few weeks of playing other mechs. But I can get into my Cataphract at any point and kill some bad guys. Even my Awesome is a monster compared to my light mechs (that includes 8Q, 8R, 8V and 8T).
