After playing dozens of matches with dozens of new player, I would think it would be appropriate to create a ranged tutorial that is REQUIRED prior to playing your 25th match.

- Currently newer players are firing weapons that exceed their maximum range, and more than double their max effective range.

- The REQUIRED range tutorial would help them learn about targets outside of their range, or within optimal range.

- Said tutorial should have rankings based on their ability to hit targets WITHIN range.
  • F - Unable to hit anything.
  • D - Able to hit a few targets within any range.
  • C - Hit half the targets within maximum range.
  • B - Hit at least half of the targets within optimal range.
  • A - Hit everything within maximum range.
  • S - Hit everything within optimal range.

Ranking system is for rating the players based on their performance, maximum range is lower than optimal range due to full damage being dealt within optimal range, and degrading towards maximum range.

Difference between S and A is the amount of damage done due to range.
Difference between B and C is the amount of damage done to at least half of the targets.

This tutorial would be best simulated against moving, hostile mechs. In an attempt to create a live match and teach new players their weapons range limitations.

Thoughts?
